Dia stared up at her trans flag, which was now ripped in two. Her parents harsh words and aimed slurs all faded to background noise as tears rolled down her cheeks. Her mom, her OWN mom was calling her all sorts of homophobic slurs, saying how she'd never love her for how she was acting and how she'd always be a boy. Dia's room was messed up, signs of hers and her parent's fight were hard to miss. The mirror was smashed, all the makeup she'd saved up for was all tossed around the desk and the room. Her posters and decorations all ripped and misplaced, not to mention her own tear stained cheeks.
"YOU'RE NOT A GIRL! YOU'RE A BOY!" Her mom screamed at her, grabbing her shoulders and shaking her. Tears fell from Dia's eyes, she sobbed and sobbed. All she wanted was her mom to actually accept her.
"I am a girl..." Dia's voice was choked and strained, she only just manages to sob out her words.
"KEEP SAYING THAT AND YOU'LL BE OUT OF THIS FUCKING HOUSE AND OFF TO YOUR DICKHEAD DAD'S! YOU CAN GO LIVE WITH HIM! TWO CUNTS IN ONE HOUSE!"
Her mom pushes her back, she falls down and hits her head on the side of her bed. Maybe living with her dad isn't the worst idea. Since "home" didn't feel like home anymore, not since she came out to her mom.
"Fine! I'll go live with dad!" Día didn't even think straight as she spoke, she was just desperate to get away from her mom. Desperate to be free...to be accepted. Before she knew it, the next morning she was packing her bags and heading to her dad's house in L.A. Free from her mom in California and off to a new world, a new start, a new life.
