KAZEMI
HELLO??? A week had passed after the exams and Kazemi's mother was still a no show.
She was currently at a supermarket close to her home since she had run out of food to eat in her house. At this point, she was glad no one had recognized her yet.
Wearing a baseball cap—which she used to tuck her noticeable hair in—a shirt, and cargo pants, she made her way towards the counter and placed all her items neatly in a pile for the cashier to scan.
"Your total will be... 3,250 Yen! Will you be using card or cash?"
Pocketing her phone, she replied towards the cashier. "Cash."
"Alright, say, you look kind of familiar. Where have I seen you?"
"Ah, I get that a lot." Taking her change, she began to leave. "Thank you."
The streets in her area were, luckily, not that crowded. Kids were playing with each other, the elderly were having their lunch together, and businessmen and women were taking their leave for work.
The noise around her became a blur. Voices that would pass for a split second before moving onto the next. Radio and TV stations were broadcast live from electronics shops, which Kazemi paid no mind to.
It was only then that she turned her head towards one TV at the exact moment, which she wished she could take back.
"Number 6 Pro-Hero Hydromic saves lives once again!" The headline showed.
The girl froze in her place. Her mother was on screen, obviously slightly beaten up, as authorities attended to the crime scene behind her.
