Dad's home...drunk...again. Which explains why I'm sitting outside. In the rain. With my younger sister. Mom left a couple years ago, a while after my sister was born, she admitted to my father how she had a secret relationship with another man during the marriage. My sister, Haneul, was around 3 when she left. After she left, my dad has had custody of us ever since.

A couple hours later with my sister asleep on my shoulder, a man with dirty blonde hair and designer clothes, walks up to the bench and sits next to us. He lights up a cigarette and looks at me. I look away since I don't do well with eye contact.

𝟑𝐑𝐃 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍 𝐏𝐎𝐕

The tall male sits next to the two siblings, a brother and a sister, pulling out a cigarette and lighting it up. He notices someone staring at him through his peripheral, he then turns and one of the siblings seemed to be staring at him. The man smirks and the brother turns away.

"What are you two doing out here all alone, doll?" Asked the man, inhaling the smoke from the cigarette and exhaling.

The brother, seungmin, thought for a couple seconds. The man notice the boy hesitating and says "don't worry, I'm not a pedophile,kid, my name is Chris by the way"

Seungmin, feeling more comfortable with the male after he assured them that he's not some pedo, he replies "my name is Seungmin and this is my sister, Haneul. I guess you can say we ran away from home"

"Really? Why?" Asked Chris, looking at the younger next to him 'he's...gorgeous. The kind of gorgeous you don't find often...'

"My dad's home, drunk, again...and I don't want my sister to be in the same house as that man" seungmin said, looking at the ground with hatred. Oh how he hates the man he's forced to call his father. The amount of hate he has for this man is a lot, but not as much as the amount of hate he has for his mother. 'Whore' the younger thought as his brain reminded him of how he looks exactly like his mother. From the same hair and eyes, to the same body shape.

The older, looks at seungmin in confusion. Why wouldn't he be confused? The boy spoke as if he hated his father...'definitely has daddy issues'

𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐍 𝐏𝐎𝐕

I look at the younger beside me. I don't know why or how, but for some weird reason I feel the need to protect these two from danger. I notice how the younger is slightly shaking. (He gave his jacket to his sister, what a gentleman 🧍‍♀️👩‍🦲)

"Are you cold?" I asked, wanting to make sure I do the right thing. "Well...yeah, a little" he responded, his cheeks turning a light crimson. Adorable. I take my jacket off and wrap it around his shoulders. "There, that should keep you warm" I say, inhaling from the cigarette and exhaling it after a couple seconds.

The younger then looks at me, his eyes wide and confused, "aren't you cold?" He asked, worry lacing his tone. "Yeah, but I'd rather you be warm than cold" I responded, looking off to the distance.

"So...do you have any family members or friends you can spend the night at?" I asked, continuing to look off into the distance.

𝐒𝐄𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐌𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐎𝐕

"So...do you have any family members or friends you can spend the night at?" Asked Chris. I think for a while. Family members would be a huge no, they'll act as if they'll keep us away from that man, but in reality, they'd call him and tell him about our whereabouts...friends? I don't know, I have Hyunjin, Felix, Han, and Jeongin, but they're probably passed out asleep right now... Except for Hyunjin and Felix, but you get the idea, no?

"No, we don't have anyone we could spend the night at" I lied...but he's a stranger, so all's well that ends well.

Chris, who seemed to be thinking, says "why don't I check you guys into a hotel room?"

I shake my head as soon as those words left his mouth. Is he insane?! I would much rather sleep under a bridge than have him check us into a hotel room.

The older sighs " Well, why don't you guys spend the night at my house? Don't worry, I won't do anything to you guys in your sleep, you'll both have a seperate room on the other side of the house"

Well, I could just give up like I always do...but that wouldn't be smart.

Starting a book and then just ending it as soon as the first chapter has been released. Not on my watch!
