Ria tried to maintain the fragile balance she and Jungkook had agreed upon. The tension between them still lingered, but they both made a conscious effort to keep things professional.
As the days passed, Ria found herself spending more time with Taehyung. Though they weren't in love, there was a growing comfort between them as they prepared for their upcoming engagement. Taehyung was sweet and attentive, always making sure Ria was comfortable and at ease.
One afternoon, Taehyung and Ria sat in the cafeteria, discussing plans for an upcoming photoshoot. Taehyung leaned closer, his voice soft. "You know, I'm really glad we're getting to know each other better. It makes this whole engagement thing a lot less... overwhelming."
Ria smiled, appreciating his honesty. "Yeah, I think so too. It's nice to have someone to lean on during all this craziness."
Taehyung's eyes sparkled with a warmth that was hard to ignore. "I'm always here if you need anything, Ria."
She nodded, her heart swelling with gratitude, but something held her back from fully embracing the connection. *Why does this feel so... complicated?* she wondered silently.
Meanwhile, Ria made an effort to get to know the other BTS members on a more personal level. She found herself sitting with Yoongi, who was her best friend in the group. His quiet presence was a calming force in her life.
"So, what's the deal with you and Taehyung?" Yoongi asked with a playful grin, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
Ria laughed, rolling her eyes. "You're impossible, Yoongi. We're just getting to know each other, that's all."
Yoongi leaned back, crossing his arms. "Just getting to know each other, huh? Well, from what I see, Taehyung's getting pretty comfortable around you. If you need any advice on dealing with him, you know who to call."
Ria gave him a mock glare. "And what makes you think I'll need advice?"
"Because," Yoongi said with a smirk, "Tae's a handful, but in the best way possible. Just don't let him convince you to dye your hair purple or something."
They both laughed, the banter easing Ria's mind. She valued Yoongi's friendship deeply, and his lighthearted teasing always managed to lift her spirits.
Later in afternoon, Ria and Jungkook were working late, finalizing some last-minute changes to a performance schedule. The office was quiet, with only the sound of typing filling the air. The silence was comfortable but tinged with unspoken thoughts.
"Looks like we're almost done," Ria said, glancing at Jungkook with a small smile.
Jungkook nodded, his focus still on the screen. "Yeah, just a few more tweaks."
As they worked side by side, their arms occasionally brushed against each other, sending electric currents through both of them. Ria's mind wandered, *Why does it feel like we're just pretending everything is fine?* She stole a glance at Jungkook, who seemed just as lost in thought.
They wrapped up the work and leaned back in their chairs. Ria decided to break the ice. "You know, for someone who's always so serious, you're pretty fun to work with, Mr. Jeon."
He looked at her, surprised by the compliment. "Oh, really? I thought I was just making things harder for you."
Ria chuckled. "Maybe a little, but you're also pretty good at what you do. Just don't let it go to your head."
Jungkook smiled, the tension between them easing slightly. "I'll try to keep that in mind."
Their eyes met briefly, and for a moment, it felt like the world faded away. They both quickly looked away, each trying to suppress the feelings that threatened to surface.
