Natsu Hinata shows up to her new school after playing volleyball in Middle School. She walks in and is overwhelmed at this size of this school compared to her middle school. She thinks to herself "One step at a time, It's time to make a name for myself". Natsu walks to the gym after class to meet with her new teammates, as she introduces herself to the captain and the rest of the team, the Captain and everyone interrupts her and they all yell "YOU ARE HINATA SHOYO SISTER?!?". Her stomach and heart drop... it makes her happy how her brother has been finding success and how popular he has started becoming... but in her head all she can think is she just wants to be Natsu and not just sitting in her brothers shadow. All of her teammates sit in silence with smiles all over their faces as Natsu just says "yes, he is my brother", All the girls scream and ask how often they talk and how often they see each other? She replies " we talk every week, and I haven't seen him since he was on TV for the MSBY Black Jackal vs Schweiden Adlers game.", all the girls get excited, smiles all over their faces, and some even blushing.
The captain and manager cuts the noise as she tells the team to silence, the captain looks at Natsu and says she is the only first year trying for the team. Natsu smiles and says "Don't worry, I know how strong this school is and I will just make us stronger." The captain and manager ask her with a smile "How tall are you and what position do you play? " and Natsu looks them in their eyes with a slight tilt to the right of her head and excitedly goes "I am 171 cm (5'7.32) and I play Outside Hitter/ACE!" The manager looks at her and goes that's a bold claim to think you can just step in right away and be the Ace. The captain tells her we will see what you are made of, We are about to practice you will be with our second unit and play against us starters. Natsu with a sparkle in her eyes and excitement all throughout her body goes Bring it on, I will prove to everyone of you that I am the ace!
As both sides warm up for the practice match between starters and backups, Natsu talks with the other reserves. They all introduce themselves and she gets to know them slowly as the warmups come to a close and everyone lines up in their positions. The lineups for the Starters - Setter/Captain - Rinko, Libero - Maiko, Middle Blocker - Inuoe, Wing Spiker - Anabel, Wing Spiker - Aya, And the Ace - Maki. The Lineups for the reserves - Setter - Sarada, Middle Blocker - Yui, Defensive Specialist - Kita, Wing Spiker - Sasaki, Wing Spiker - Misa, Wing Spiker (Self Proclaimed Ace) - Natsu.
Kana (The Manager) yells to announce to both teams that this practice match will be first to 15 (obviously have to win by 2) and Starters will serve first! Rinko grabs the ball and bounces it twice off the ground and puts it against her chest, Once the whistle is blown she lets a standard serve that goes right to Kita. Rinko sighs as she didn't mean for it to go there, Kita gets the ball up with ease right to Sarada who sends a quick down the middle to Yui who spikes it home for the first point in the game. Misa gets the ball as she gets ready to serve for the reserves, the ball slips slightly as she tosses it up and she hits it right into the net. Score is now 1-1 to both sides. Anabel gets set up for her serve for the starters, she takes a deep breath, sends the serve over and it's picked up by Misa but messed up the receive and yells "Cover!". Sarada runs to cover the receive, as she get's under it Natsu Yells "LEFT!!", Sarada sends the ball to Natsu who runs up to the set and jumps up against a triple block. Natsu in the air looks at the fingertips of the triple block and spikes it off Maki's fingertips and send it out for a point for the reserves. The starters couldn't even believe the ability they saw from Natsu, as it rang through their memories of her confidence to say she is an Ace!
As the game came to a close the starters won 17-15 but all eyes were on Natsu from the starters and manager, as she scored 9 out of 15 for the reserves. The rest of the team starts to clean the court while Rinko and Kana went to meet about the team. After a long discussion They came back with a box of jerseys with every number in different sizes allowing everyone to pick the number they want. The team all sits and wait to have their name called and told who is a starter and what position they will play. They have called all the reserves already with Sarada, Yui, Sasaki, Misa, and Kita already grabbing their jerseys, although there was still one more name to be called for the reserves. Kana looked at the clipboard and says "With the last reserve spot, Anabel come get your jersey". Natsu's eyes light up, surprised, and heart racing now knowing she will be a starter on a Powerhouse! The setter grabs her jersey, Next is Maiko the Libero. Natsu's Heart starts to race, she can't calm down inside knowing her name is about to be called. Kana then Calls Inuoe and Aya, Aya is then told she is Wing Spiker. Kana calls Maki and tells her to grab her jersey and is told Wing Spiker. Natsu starting to feel like she is on the verge of passing out, Rinko and Kana at the same time then go Natsu come grab your Jersey. As Natsu walks up her hands start to sweat and she can't stop smiling. She looks down at the jerseys and with no hesitation grabs the number 10 jersey in her size. All she could think to herself was she was to young to watch her brother in high school, but she wanted to wear the number he did, as he is the reason she even got into volleyball. Rinko then walks up to Natsu and says "Congratulations Natsu, You will be our Ace!". Natsu couldn't believe what she was hearing, First Year Ace, On A Powerhouse Team. Her eyes starting to tear up the second her ears heard it. The Whole Team then gets in front of Natsu and all together yells:
"WELCOME TO THE QUEENS, WELCOME TO THE NIIYAMA GIRLS TEAM!!!!!!!!!"
