Lexi's eyes fluttered open, her mind foggy from the vivid dream. She lay in bed, trying to shake off the feeling of unease that lingered long after she woke. It was a dream she'd had before, yet it felt more real each time. She saw herself standing in a grand ballroom, surrounded by strangers in old-fashioned clothes. A man with piercing blue eyes approached her, his smile hauntingly familiar.
As she sat up, Lexi's gaze fell upon the antique mirror hanging on her bedroom wall. She felt an inexplicable pull towards it, as if the mirror held secrets she couldn't quite remember. She swung her legs over the side of the bed and stood up, her bare feet sinking into the plush carpet.
Without thinking, Lexi reached out and touched the mirror's surface. It was cool to the touch, but a shiver ran down her spine. Suddenly, the ballroom reappeared in her mind's eye, the man's blue eyes locking onto hers.
Lexi jerked her hand back, her heart racing. What was happening to her? Why did she feel like she'd lived a life she couldn't remember?
