"i don't want to go back to class," courtney groaned as her head fell back onto the lounge. "i just want to keep partying forever."
while it was still two days before estelle's first day back at college, it was the last free day for a couple of her friends, so the four had decided to spend the monday afternoon hanging out in courtney and hallie's campus apartment.
"you choose to go to college," estelle softly chuckled at the girl's dramaticness.
"i know but.. ugh.."
"you excited to start your new course?" florence asked the girl sat beside her.
"mhm," estelle nodded. "i hope i like it more.. mom and dad probably won't be too happy if i say i want to change courses again.."
"i don't know why they don't just let you work until you decide what you really want to do," she replied. "or do you want to do nursing?"
"i don't know," she sighed. "i don't like blood and needles and such, i shouldn't picked it, i just panicked.."
"i don't see you as being a nurse," hallie mentioned. "you're more of an english major vibe, i'd say.."
"i agree," courtney nodded. "you and all your books and arts.. i don't know why you're not doing something you're into.."
"i just want to keep mom and dad happy," she slightly mumbled, her gaze dropping to her hands in her lap, fiddling with her fingers. "cami their perfect child, who knew what she wanted to do and acing all her lawyer exams and making them so proud, i just want to do that.."
"talk to them," florence suggested. "i'm sure they'll be supportive if you say you don't want to waste their money and take some time off to decide what you actually want to invest in.."
"mh.."
"how things going with that boy," hallie switched the topic, noticing the girl starting to shut herself off a little. "tell us everything."
"um.." estelle hummed for a second as she thought what to say, a smile instantly forming as she thought of zach. "we were texting on saturday and just about our days.. we mentioned our siblings and i said how i'm the middle child and he joked that i could escape to him and my parents wouldn't know," she giggled.
"then we called yesterday and talked.. he's keeps calling me phoenix which i find so cute- oh and called me ess, which like i know everyone does but hearing it out of his mouth just.. ugh, i liked it a lot."
"cute, very cute," florence replied.
"also he tried to tell me he didn't know where arizona is, which he ended up saying he does and he was just messing with me but i honestly believed him for a second," she continued babbling about the boy. "also he said he went on a world tour last year, like for his music- well like he didn't say that himself but i'm guessing that what he meant cause he didn't correct me.."
