"Thanos! Where are you, Thanos?! I heard you’ve returned?!"

The demigod couple could hear the distant voice of a man growing clearer as he approached. The tone wasn’t a greeting but rather a shout of anger, perfectly fitting the setting they were in.

“Tha–ouw, we have a guest, it seems?” His tone softened as he turned into the dining room and saw Yunho standing beside Mingi.

“Hyung, this is Jung Yunho or Phaedon, son of Poseidon. Yunho, this is Lee Jooheon or Thanasis, my older brother I mentioned earlier.”

“Oh, so he’s already told you about me? My cold and fearsome little brother didn’t say anything weird about me, did he?”

The piercing gaze made Yunho smile awkwardly. “No, hyung, Thanos only mentioned how cruel you are.”

“Good, so he only spoke well of me, then.”

“Eh?” Yunho was surprised to learn that cruelty was considered a good trait in the Underworld. The son of Hades was indeed different.

“So... are you Thanos’s friend, or...?” Jooheon looked at Yunho suspiciously. Yunho kept smiling awkwardly and looked a bit nervous, unsure of how to respond. Okay, Mingi’s half-brother already knew the answer. “It’s hard to believe my gloomy little brother always ends up with a bright Poseidon’s child as his lover.”

“Shut up, Thanasis.”

“Where are Xenia and Dimas? I heard they’ve returned as well, but I haven’t seen them?” Jooheon was referring to Sihyeon and Hyungseob.

“They’re here? But I haven’t seen anyone besides the working nymphs?” Mingi replied, puzzled.

“Never mind, since it’s just you two, follow me to Tartarus. Help me judge the rebels.”

“Alright, hyung.”

“Phaedon, will you stay here or...?”

“I’ll join. A little tour around the Underworld sounds fun.” Yunho smiled at Mingi, his expression shifting back to enthusiastic cheerfulness.

“Alright then. Hurry up, I’ll be waiting for you there.”

Without waiting for another response from Mingi or Yunho, Jooheon dragged his feet out of the palace, disappearing from view as he turned and vanished behind a wall.

“Is he gone? Phew, good,” said a voice that startled Yunho and Mingi. Without sensing any other presence besides themselves, they saw Sihyeon and Hyungseob appear suddenly.

“You two have been here the whole time?”

“For a few hours? Yes. But I just arrived and wanted to rest. That Thanasis always demands we go straight to Tartarus. It’s so annoying.” Sihyeon complained. He and Hyungseob had just reappeared after avoiding their brother’s orders.

“Isn’t meeting the spirits and titans fun?” Mingi grinned wickedly, which looked to Yunho like an antagonist in movies. Why was it so hard for his lover to give a beautiful and sincere smile, except to him?

“We just finished that exhausting campus practical exam. You have no idea how tiring it was.” Hyungseob replied with a lazy expression.

Mingi shrugged nonchalantly, “Me who hasn’t done the exam can’t relate.”

“Exactly! So hurry up and leave. I want to sleep–ow!” Sihyeon interrupted his own sentence with a yelp. Jooheon was pinching both of his younger siblings’ ears simultaneously.

“Oppa! / Hyung!”

Yunho’s eyes widened at the scene. Why did the Hades’ children around him always give him a heart attack with their sudden appearances?

“You think I can’t read what’s happening, huh?! You mischievous kids!” The man looked at his siblings wincing in pain, so he roughly withdrew his hand. Sihyeon and Hyungseob rubbed their sore ears while hissing in discomfort.

“Did you hear our reasons earlier? So can you release us from Tartarus duties for just one day?” Hyungseob asked irritably.

“If you think your reasons are valid enough to defy me, why hide behind your superpowers? Papa never taught us to be cowards. Remember, brave because it’s right. Afraid because it’s wrong.”

“That’s because whether right or wrong, you’ll still force us!” Sihyeon complained just as frustrated as Hyungseob.

“Alright. For today, I’ll allow you to rest. But tomorrow, when your stamina and chakra are restored, I won’t accept any refusals to my orders.” Jooheon’s tone was threatening and stern, making him look even more fearsome. “Thanos, Phaedon, if you have no further business, leave quickly. The rebels are waiting to be judged.”

So when he asked Mingi to follow him, it was just part of his act to make Sihyeon and Hyungseob believe that their brother had really left the palace. It was actually a tactic to make his younger siblings reappear and stop avoiding their duties. Now Jooheon was tired and needed rest. So the three siblings of Hades went to their respective rooms to relax and fall asleep.

Mingi led Yunho out of the palace, walking over the rocky and uneven terrain southeast towards Tartarus. The son of Hades held Poseidon’s son’s hand protectively. “Be careful, Phaedon, if you’re not cautious, you might slip.”

“It’s no big deal. I’m used to minor scratches, let alone just falling?” Yunho reassured Mingi, not wanting to worry his lover.

“Jung Yunho, have you forgotten why you’re not taking the practical exam on the original schedule?”

Oh, right. Sometimes Yunho forgot he was carrying an innocent being inside him.

“Don’t worry, Thanos, if I slip, before my butt hits the ground, I’ll perform water bending to protect myself from any impact.”
