Chapter 11

~Chapter 11~

--Gem's POV--

I was in school when Niall started to walk over to me. I didn't want him, at least not now. I'm guessing his new here since I've never seen him at this school before and because of his Irish accent. To my it doesn't matter of how a person speaks, it's how a person acts.

"Hey, you look upset what's wrong", Niall asked.

I didn't even wanted to answer that question. I did answer that question in my head though. Um well I'm pregnant, my boyfriend and the father of my child is died, I have a horrible life, and your asking me to tell you all this while I barely know you.

"Drae's funeral is today, after school."

"Oh, you want me to come with?"

"No, I'll be fine. I'm a big girl."

"Alright. Well can I ask you a question?"

"Sure."

"Where is this class", Niall asked. I looked at his schedule.

"Here follow me you have the same classes as me", I said. We walked to English class. On the way there Jesse walked up to me.

"Heard your knocked up, and the daddy's died. And who is this kid, you sleeping with him already. Get a life Gem.", Jesse said.

"Back off her", Niall said.

"Back off her?!", Jesse said.

Jesse walked up right in front of me. He patted my belly.

"Wonder if it's a boy or a girl", Jesse said. I ignored him and walked into class. I sat down in a seat with Niall on my left side and Jesse on my right. I was about to get up and move when the teacher, Mr. Reedy walked into the room and gestured me to sit down. I say back down and inched my seat towards Niall. I didn't want Jesse to me by me. Neither did I want Niall, but I trust him more.

Mr. Reedy announced, "Good morning class, we have a new student here. Mr. Horan may you please stand up".

Niall stood up. All eyes were on him people whispering words about him in each others ears. Then he sat down. Whispers still continued. I was wondering what they were talking about, bad things, good things, dirty things, what?

Suddenly I felt my hand get warm. It was Niall. I released his grip. Then he whispered in my ear. "Gem, I promise you that I'm nothing but a friend".

Now I felt like the other people who were whispering. "I know. I just don't want to get close to anybody right now", I whispered back. He grabbed my hand again, but this time I didn't let go I let his warmth travel through my body since I was practically freezing. We went through-out the rest over our morning classes then lunch came. I found Alice sitting with some boy and Chelsea sitting next to them. I say down with them. Niall sat next to me.

"I heard what happened with Drae and you, I sorry", Alice said.

"For what you didn't do anything, Alice", I said.

She didn't do anything it was Chelsea. Chelsea the girl who was so jealous of me she killed my boyfriend because she wanted him. It's so sick what she did. She probably could of had any boy at this school and she chose my boyfriend.

"Who's he?", I asked about the boy sitting next to Alice.

"That's Alice "guy friend" or should I say boyfriend", Chelsea said.

"He's not my boyfriend"Alice said.

"He's your boyfriend if you already had sex with him", Chelsea said.

"Who's he?", Alice asked about Niall.

"My name is Niall", Niall said.

"Are you Gem's boyfriend?", Chelsea asked.

"No", Niall said.

I got up and went into the restroom. Since I never eat at this school. I saw Chelsea follow me. When I was in the restroom it was only a matter seconds until Chelsea was in there too. No one else was in the restrooms.

"Hey! I've been meaning to tell you something", Chelsea said.

"Yes?", I asked.

"Well this is going to be hard for me to say", Chelsea said.

What could be hard for her to say? What could possibly be hard for her to say?! The next words she said had me speechless.

"I love you"

I tried to run away from those words but they kept running through my head. I ran out of the restroom and back to the lunch table. I grabbed Niall's hand a held it. I squeezed his hand so tightly he asked me, "What's wrong!?".
