In Seoul, a young researcher named Shin Gu Mi lived a comfortable life as a member of a middle-class family. One day, she met a boy named Kim Tae Moo, who had moved to Seoul from a rural area to find a job. Tae Moo's family was poor, and his father worked as a farmer. Despite his difficult circumstances, Tae Moo had fallen in love with a teacher named Yura, who unfortunately only saw him as a friend.
Heartbroken, Tae Moo wandered through a park, where he accidentally collided with an elderly woman named Hon Shan Ni. She offered him a job at her company, One Food Entertainment, as a researcher. Tae Moo was overjoyed and accepted the offer.
On his first day, Tae Moo ran into Shin Gu Mi again and was surprised to learn that she was his new colleague. Hon Shan Ni, who resembled Tae Moo's late mother, introduced him to the team. Shin Gu Mi and Tae Moo grew close as they worked together on a project to create a new dish, white kimchi kimbap.
As they spent more time together, Tae Moo and Shin Gu Mi developed feelings for each other. However, Tae Moo struggled with his past poverty and the revelation that he was actually Hon Shan Ni's long-lost son, making him rich. Shin Gu Mi assured him that her love was genuine and not motivated by his wealth.
In the end, Tae Moo and Shin Gu Mi confessed their love for each other and got married, surrounded by their friends and colleagues.
