(real life..)

author's note before you read: there are spoilers for the scream movie if you guys haven't seen it!! (if you haven't seen it yet i honestly don't know how you're human)

"WE ARE NOT WATCHING 'scream' just because you think billy's hot."

olivia rolls her eyes at jess' comment. "that's not the only reason." she defends, crossing her arms over her chest. "i just think he's.. fairly attractive for a serial killer." she mumbles.

lane, mason and juniper are walking with them, watching the two quarrel. the group is sitting in the town's gazebo, figuring out where to go. the theater is currently doing reruns of old movies, and tonight is the first 'scream' movie, which olivia really wants to go see again.

"i lowkey wanna see it too." mason voices, receiving a glare from jess in return.

juniper stands up from the bench and claps her hands together. "well it's unanimous," she announces "we're going to the movies."

"when in that whole argument was it declared 'unanimous'?" jess protests.

"when i said it was." juniper snaps back.

lane stands up along with juniper, liv and mason following. the four look down at jess and he groans, standing up.

"fiiine." he caves. honestly only doing it because olivia wants to.

olivia throws her hands in the air and lets out a "woo!". jess just huffs out a laugh in response.

the five make their way to the theater, buying their tickets at the box office, and trailing inside. mason gasps and runs over to the arcade games displayed against the walls, laughing like a little kid. juniper and lane end up running after him.

that leaves liv and jess in the snack line. jess crosses his arms over his chest, while olivia hooks her thumbs onto the belt loops on her jeans. something she always does in public spaces. she sways side-to-side out of boredom, hoping jess will start a conversation.

"via?" jess voices, breaking the uncomfortable silence as they wait in the long line.

she faces him, her cheeks blushing at the use of the nickname. "yeah?" she hums.

the boy stutters, unsure of what to say. he sighs and just mumbles, "i like your hat." he grimaces at his own words, pinching the bridge of his nose. stupid, he thinks to himself.

her lips form into a tight lipped smile, nodding her head. "thanks.." olivia wraps her arms around her stomach. her outfit today consists of black jeans with stars drawn on the cuffs-- something she does when she's bored-- a white shirt with a 'reputation' cardigan over it, and a black spiderman beanie. and of course, her beloved converse.

thankfully the line moves up and it's finally their turn. olivia receives a text of what the others want. the girl greets the employee, listing off the items. the two wait patiently until they receive their food. juniper, lane and mason running up to pay for their things.
