Angel Ambrioso's eyes fluttered open as the first rays of morning light crept through her curtains, casting a soft glow over the room. She turned her head slightly, feeling the warmth of Vittorio's body beside her, his arm draped over her waist. For a moment, she simply lay there, savoring the rare, peaceful moment.

But as much as she loved waking up next to him, reality intruded. Her parents would be waking up soon, and the last thing she needed was for them to find Vitto in her bed. She gently traced the line of his jaw, leaning in to press soft kisses along his neck.

"Vitto," she whispered, her voice barely louder than a breath, "you need to get up."

He stirred, mumbling something incoherent as he pulled her closer, his lips brushing against her temple. "Five more minutes," he murmured, his voice still thick with sleep.

Angel smiled, her heart aching with a mixture of love and sadness. "We can't," she whispered back. "My parents will be up soon."

Vitto sighed, his hand sliding down her back before he finally opened his eyes. "You're too good at convincing me," he said with a half-smile, slowly sitting up.

"I'm just looking out for you," Angel teased, sitting up as well and brushing her hair out of her face. She watched as Vitto swung his legs over the side of the bed and stood up, stretching. His shirtless form was bathed in the soft morning light, and for a moment, Angel couldn't help but admire him. But she quickly shook the thought away, knowing they didn't have much time.

Vitto quickly gathered his clothes, pulling on his jeans and t-shirt before slipping on his shoes. As he grabbed his phone from the bedside table, he turned to Angel, his eyes softening. "I'll miss this," he said, his voice tinged with regret.

"I will too," Angel admitted, standing up and walking over to him. She placed a hand on his chest, feeling his heartbeat beneath her palm. "But we'll have tonight and tomorrow. Let's not waste what we have left."

He leaned down, capturing her lips in a slow, lingering kiss. "You're right," he murmured against her lips before pulling away. "I'll see you later, I'll pick you up, okay?"

Angel nodded, watching as he quietly opened the window and slipped out, expertly maneuvering down the side of the house. She waited until he was safely on the ground before closing the window and leaning against it, taking a deep breath.

With Vitto gone, the reality of the day ahead settled in. It was the first day of school—a new year, new challenges, and the looming fact that in just a few days, Vitto would be on a plane to Canada for a year. The thought made her stomach twist, but she pushed it aside as she headed to the bathroom to start getting ready.
