❝𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆, 𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐘!❞ Alex greeted her daughter with a wide smile on her face, "I made you bre - where are you going?"
Laken looks at her mom with a smile, "Running with Miguel."
Alex pinches her eyebrows together, "Who's Miguel?"
"Oh! Right, you and dad have been gone. Speaking of dad, where is he?" Laken looks around for her father, confused because usually the two of them always came back at the same time.
"He got held up with some business partners, should be home in a day or two." Alex tells her, leaning on the palms of her hands, "Now, Miguel?"
"He's a new kid at our school. He actually lives in the same apartment complex as Johnny with his mom and Yaya. We're friends." Laken shrugged, reaching over to grab one of the pancakes, "Johnny's been teaching him karate and opened up Cobra Kai again. Some stuff happened over the last couple of days, and I was convinced to join."
Alex raised an eyebrow, "But Johnny and your father taught you karate already."
Laken shrugged, standing up from her chair, "Yeah, but it doesn't hurt to keep learning."
"Okay, well dinner tonight, just the two of us."
"Sounds good!"
