Chapitre 1

Jungkook sat in front of his assigned computer and let his eyes fall on the screen where a young man, whom he had been following for a while, was heading toward his job at a coffee shop.

This morning, Jungkook had lied to his partner, telling him that he was heading to his job as a salaryman. But how could he possibly have told him that the world they were living in was fictive?

As one of the few percentages of the population made aware, Jungkook worked for the government, carrying the pressure of the truth. He was aware that this world was one of the many simulations generated by A.I., and that he, and everything he knew, was the result of a prompt.

Why would such worlds be created?

Well, as technology kept on becoming more and more advanced, humans began to wonder if their world could be the product of a simulation. After all, we already had nearly infinite space in games, high-tech resolutions, and AI. Add to this the lack of comprehension we had of our own space and matter, and humans had quite good reasons to believe in this possibility.

 It was mainly profit-oriented, but soon the 1% richest tech companies of this world invested in either finding out if this was the truth and, if not, in making it a reality. They spent thousands upon thousands on creating worlds similar to theirs and eventually succeeded. 

Each world was now able to create worlds, and in these creations, the government saw both a threat and an opportunity. The threat was other worlds finding a way to exist from their own sustainment. If that happened, there was the possibility that they could themselves become annihilated. The opportunity was to exploit them, asking for artificial money in exchange for "their security." That is why they instated strict control. 

In each and every worlds, the members of this secret mission were given the task of watching over the other simulations and reporting each and every event, ensuring no other government was planning to annihilate them. 

If doubt where to be confirmed, it happened that worlds got disconnected, dooming whole populations that once lived without being aware that all it would take for them to die was for one person to press the "cancel world" button on their control panel. 

Jungkook, on this day, entered the underground building, and after he formally greeted the other members, went to his seat to, as every other day, watch over his assigned world. It was allowed to spy on citizens, just to draw out their political opinions or to comprehend how their daily routines could influence their world on a bigger scale. However, it was of no use watching over one of them for too long. Yet it had been a while since Jungkook had been following the every move of a young man. And Park Jimin, as he was named, was one of these ordinary citizens, or so it seemed. 

Here is some of the information Jungkook had gathered about the young man:

Jimin was a student at the korean national university of arts and a great dancer, in fact, maybe the best Jungkook had ever laid his eyes upon. And with his contemporary dance classes being too expensive, he decided to find a part-time job and luckily got employed in a coffee shop. It did not pay much, but enough for what was needed, and his colleagues were nice to him.He had a beautiful sorrowful voice that, when reaching higher notes, could probably be heard from the moon. However, the young man decided to keep this hobby to himself. He was not confident enough in his own ability and did not have enough savings nor time to take vocal training lessons. But most importantly, a strange anomaly had be detected regarding his code. 

While gathering information about his subject the words "INIT_SEQUENCE_ERROR: Code Fragment [Beta-09] Misaligned" appeared on the screen.
