**Chapter 10: Bonds of Recovery**

Recap of previous chapter:

Sanemi let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding, relief washing over him. He nodded, his grip on Giyu's hand tightening. "Thank you," he whispered, his voice filled with gratitude.

The healer nodded and left the room, leaving Sanemi alone with Giyu. He leaned back on his bed, exhaustion finally catching up with him. But he couldn't bring himself to sleep, not yet. He needed to be there for Giyu, to watch over him and ensure his safety.

As the night wore on, Sanemi's thoughts turned to the future. They had faced a powerful demon and emerged victorious, but the battle had left them both scarred. He knew that the road to recovery would be long and difficult, but he was determined to see it through. For Giyu, for the village, and for the countless lives they had saved.

Sanemi's eyes grew heavy, and he finally allowed himself to drift off to sleep, his hand still holding Giyu's. The battle was over, but their journey was far from finished. Together, they would face whatever challenges lay ahead, their bond unbreakable.

The days at the Butterfly Mansion were filled with a mix of pain and healing. The skilled healers worked tirelessly to tend to their wounds, applying salves and changing bandages with practiced hands. Sanemi and Giyu spent most of their time resting, their bodies slowly mending from the brutal battle.

Sanemi often found himself watching over Giyu, his protective instincts never far from the surface. He would sit by Giyu's bed, their conversations sparse but meaningful. They spoke of the battle, of their injuries, and of the villagers they had saved. But more than anything, they spoke of their determination to continue fighting, no matter the cost.

Giyu, despite his injuries, remained stoic and composed. He would often reassure Sanemi, his calm demeanor a source of strength for both of them. "We'll get through this," he would say, his voice steady. "We've faced worse before."

Sanemi would nod, his resolve hardening with each passing day. He knew that Giyu was right. They had faced countless battles, and they would face countless more. But they would do it together, their bond that was made during this mission had became unbreakable. from Sanemi thinking that giyu thought he was better than him and stuck up to him thinking of him as much more. And from giyu wanting to be his friend to finally being his friend.

As the days turned into weeks, their injuries began to heal. The healers were pleased with their progress, often commenting on their resilience and strength. Sanemi and Giyu began to regain their strength, their bodies slowly returning to their former selves.

During their recovery, they found themselves getting to know each other better. They shared stories of their pasts, their hopes, and their fears. Sanemi learned of Giyu's quiet determination, his unwavering sense of duty. Giyu, in turn, learned of Sanemi's fierce loyalty, his unyielding resolve.

One evening, as the sun set and cast a warm glow over the room, Sanemi noticed something. Giyu's hair, usually tied up neatly, had come loose during the battle. The hairband he always wore was missing, likely lost in the chaos of the fight.
