At the end of the day, you did not get a lawyer. Instead, you called someone you know to do something else.

Thaddeus Ross. Yes, the one and only guy that Natasha Romanoff has a beef with after the events of the Civil War. You had a history with him back in the day he used to be lovers with your aunt until he became the secretary of state in America, but you kept in touch.

"Secretary," you shake hands, "take a seat."

"Y/n, you've grown since I last saw you," he replied.

"It's been a very long time, and you're still here," you returned and he chuckled lightly. "I've called you here today because I need your help."

He smirked. "How can I be of service to my nearly niece?" He joked.

"So, as you can see, I've brought back the Avengers Initiative, who I've heard you had a dispute with years ago."

"Yes, yes, that's right. What about it?"

"I need you to help me legally own this organization, seeing as I've put my money and connection to rebuilding this."

His silence was deafening as he thought it through. "That's no easy task."

"But it's possible," you were not asking because you knew it was possible.

"What did Fury say about this?"

"He doesn't like it," you replied.

"Of course, he doesn't. He never liked anyone meddling with his businesses."

You squint your eyes at him. "Will you help then?"

With a look in his eyes, he nodded his head. You told him what you planned to do, and he disagreed with some things, which he corrected and made sure you were going right away.

Now that's all set, he stood up and left. On his way out, he bumped into Natasha; the two had a chit-chat before, eventually, the secretary was off to his private car. Natasha approached you suspiciously.

"What was he doing here?" She asked.

"Business," you simply reply and she scoffed.

"What business Y/n? What are you up to?" She pushed.

Your smile was swept away by her tone, so you looked at her. "It's none of your concerns, Natasha; you're not my partner," you returned, and she rolled her eyes.

Before she could even muster her remark, an unfamiliar voice came blaring in. "Sister!" It had a thick Russian accent to it, and before you knew it, Natasha was engulfed in a hug by a blonde girl. You eyed the two, unhappy that Natasha had not mentioned she had a visitor.

Clearing your throat, the blonde woman broke the embrace and turned to look at you. She looked familiar, surely you knew her somewhere, she couldn't possibly be — "Hi, Yelena Belova, and you are...?" She trailed off, her words slowly reaching your ears. You stared intensely at her face as her name circulated inside your skull. Yelena Belova. The kid she replaced me with.

Your heart skipped a beat before you flashed her a quick tight smile. "Y/n Dela Cruz." She smiled at you but you continued to stare at her.

"Alright," Natasha clapped her hands, pulling you away from your trance as you looked down to the floor before saying, "Make yourself at home." Before excusing yourself from the two.

What could get worse than the blonde girl being here under the same roof as you? Maybe the fact that she's Natasha's 'alleged sister'?

"Y/n Dela Cruz? Whatever happened to proudly introducing yourself as Y/n Belova?" Laura caught up to you, having heard the whole interaction from afar.
