'Pent up'

==============================================================================

6:22 P.M.

I stood in front of the large window inside me and Jace's shared bedroom, feeling the sweet scent of that cold, nighttime wind after I had just spent dinner telling Mom and Gramma my recent war story. Turns out both of them were equally as arachnophobic as I am and only Jace got to really eat his meal in relative peace.

The image of my arm slowly turning a mix of brown and grey remained fresh in my head, but no longer hits as hard after the comforting massage Jace had given me. A massage that not only made my tense body relax, but also ignited a special kind of warmth deep in my stomach, different from when he would just sexually harass me for his own amusement.

"He had a hard-on........." He definitely felt that warmth too, if that massive boner that I saw in his shorts was any indication.

An uncle that gets a hard-on from massaging his niece, he's hopeless. Even though I deliberately lowered my dress in an alluring manner for him, he's hopeless. Even though I kept looking back at him with a not-so-familial, inviting stare in my eyes, he's hopeless.

Hopeless, and a coward, pulling back like that when he had all the reason in the world to go through—

*Door suddenly flies open*

"Ma said she'll have an exterminator come over by tomorrow, since apparently not even splashing water into the cabinet works." Jace says to me as he barges into the room without so much as knocking.

"Haehh!? A-Ah, right. Knock when you're about to enter next time, dammit."

"Ehheh, my bad. How are you feeling right now, though?"

I looked away as soon as that question came out of him. "Y-Yeah, I'm alright. I think I'm going to bed early." I say to him before climbing on to the top bunk, unable to even look in his general direction. Perhaps sleep can help shed both the lingering shellshock and the ache I feel in my chest whenever Jace is close to me.

"Alright then, goodnight."

".....Goodnight."

Jace then turns the lights off right after I climbed up. I guess he too decided to hit the sack early tonight.

9:46 P.M.

I laid there for longer than expected, even after what happened, but I eventually fell asleep. When I opened my eyes again it was still dark out, I looked underneath me at Jace's bunk to see if he was asleep, but he wasn't there.

"Ah, what? Where could he be at this hour?" I thought to myself as I got out of my top bunk to search for him around the house, he was bound to be somewhere, probably down in the living room playing games or something.

But my search was cut short, for when I opened the door to our bedroom, I was met with what I can only describe as my own personal Hell come to life. The hallway was covered in spider webs, from floor to ceiling, the moonlight from the windows making every strand of silk flicker in the darkness, and there were enough spiderlings crawling through the web to make the walls seem and feel alive.

"N-Nho, ohhh shit!! What the fuck....??" My pulse accelerated to unhealthy levels in an instant, so much so I could feel my own ribcage vibrating from how aggressively my heart was beating. Wherever Jace is I need to find him, and fast. We need to get out of here.

Without thinking I start rushing through the house, first checking Granma's bedroom, nothing, Ma's guest bedroom, also nothing. I run down the stairs, trying to avoid contact with the spiders as best I can and keeping myself from fainting on the spot from the horror unfurling around me.
