chapter fifty four — awkward sleep

BLAKE TWISTED AND TURNED IN bed, her brain full with thoughts. walker's arm was around her, but it was 5 in the morning and she hadn't slept yet.

all she could think about was the comment thread under her last post about corny and cringy nicknames. it was random fans yet it was getting to her.

what would they think if they knew she called walker jellybean? it had a backstory behind it, and it was funny, but they wouldn't get it. what if walker didn't actually like it and she was making him super uncomfortable.

blake had to carefully get out of walker's grip, getting up and going to the bathroom. after closing the door she sighed, looking into the mirror.

"why are you getting worked up about this, you don't care about stupid fan comments, you never have. why are you overthinking." blake said to herself.

"ask walker about it. he wouldn't lie, or would he." blake said, crossing her arms.

"what is wrong with me." she said, hitting her forehead head with her hand repeadely.

meanwhile, walker had sat up in his bed rubbing his arm that had fallen asleep. he also had gotten no sleep that night, and didn't know that both him and his girlfriend were fake sleeping.

walker's head was filled with his own thoughts, also about his relationship. he thought he was ruining it, since he was awkward, and wasn't as fun and bold as a guy blake had wanted.

she never expressed this, but seeing as she loved how walker was pretending to act walker figured that was her type. he also was debating on telling her how much he loved her, but he thought it was too soon.

walker and blake had officially been dating for a month as of the day, january sixth, and walker just thought it was fast. the only thing was, they had known each other for years, and walker had a secret he had kept from everyone, everyone but his older sister.

he had liked blake since the day they met, november 8, 2020. it was the same day he followed her on instagram, and the same time he stalked her entire profile.

even after they distanced walker watched as she stared in new movies, learned about makeup, grew up. he felt like a stalker, but he was just someone who had been madly in love with a girl since they first ever locked eyes.

since blake walked in with ryan onto the set of adam's project, while she looked around at how insanely cool everything looked. since blake beat him in uno.

blake was the person who helped him realize his hair was actually curly. leah helped him learn how to control and make his curls look nice but he would've always believe his hair was straight if it wasn't for blake.

walker had loved blake for years, but he would never know if she felt the same way.

"just be you, and tell her. but how would she feel you've been faking how you are for a month now. no you can't tell her, she's going to break up with you." walker said.

suddenly the door opened, and walker froze before he could go back to laying down. "y-you're up?" blake said.

"yeah, it's hot. i slept though so, it's alright." walker said.

"oh, cool. i just went to use the bathroom." blake said.

walker nodded, smiling to ease the awkward. "i'm gonna..go back to bed."

"yeah same." blake said. she layed back next to walker, a small space in between them.

"blake can i ask you something?" walker asked.

blake didn't respond, her back still facing walker as she layed down. after the responses she could say shuffled in her head, she settled with a stupid one.

"not tonight. we can talk about it over food later. i'm tired." blake said, even though she was wide awake.

"okay."

as blake and walker layed with their backs to each other they wondered what would happen after they talked. would this be the only month they share as a couple?
