Seo-yun and I went to the local shopping outlet, getting some new clothes for school. The whole time we were there, she kept complaining about how much she liked this boy in her class. I couldn't get into the whole romance thing; it always seems like whenever someone has a crush, they go out of their way to impress them, often changing their appearance just to catch their attention. The funny thing is, I was describing all of my friends. And when they finally talk to their crush, they just leave me behind. Or ignore me for the rest of my life. So considering this for Seo-yun, I would let him be.
"Nari, should I change my hair? Maybe a wolf-cut or something, I want to stand out to Yu-jun," she suggested. I groaned. She asked me this question ten billion times this week.
"Why would you want to change your looks for some low-life person who probably doesn't even know your existence? I just don't get it," I responded. Maybe I could've said it nicer but I don't want to apologize because I knew I was correct. Maybe I could have phrased it more kindly, but I don't feel like apologizing since I know I was right. Seo-yun didn't take it personally and simply rolled her eyes.
"Ugh, you're no fun. Lighten up and maybe one day you'll find your soulmate," she teased and elbowed me. I chuckled as I walked with her. That was when I spotted a new store that just opened up called "Love Maker". Ew, that is so cheesy and cringe by just looking at it. Sadly, it seems like Seo-yun has caught her attention and began to walk into the store. I groaned and lumped my back before following her. Just because it has "love" in it, doesn't mean it's going to be for you, Seo-yun. But obviously, I have to respect her taste in things and make the right decision: let her be. I walked in to find everything red and light pink with hearts everywhere. Just the thing we need. Yaayy. Seo-yun was looking everywhere and saw lots of nice clothing to wear so she took a couple of things.
"This looks like an awesome shop! Like, look at the clothing Nari! It's also on multiple discounts," she exclaimed. I forcefully put on a fake smile.
"It's...decent I guess," I said as I examined the clothing. It wasn't half bad to be honest. Then, a woman walked up to us with a long dress and high heels. She didn't look like an employee.
"Hello, welcome to Love Maker, I am Samatha Una. Would you need any assistance to find anything?" She asked.
"Oh um yeah, I'm looking for clothing for a different look for uh me. And what kind of style do you think?" Seo-yun asked the lady. I still wasn't all for the changing-everything-about-my-best thing but I guess I should let her decide. After all, it's her life and not mine.
"I think the blue dress you are carrying will perfectly suit you. If you want something more outstanding, try this," Samatha replied as she got out a beautiful, sleek, and ruby dress.
"Wow, that's actually very pretty," I bluntly said.
"Thanks, it's on sale and very hard to find. If you don't buy it now, it will be gone in three days!" Samatha said as she gave it to Seo-yun.
"Dang, then after I'm trying it on-I'm definitely buying it," Seo-yun said, devoted.
"Uh, it's a pretty dress. But we have a dress code. When are you going to wear it?" I asked as I looked at the dress.
"Prom. Duh," she said sassy as she went into the changing room. I sighed as I leaned on the wall, waiting for her. At least thirty minutes of changing and looking at other clothing, she decided to get the ruby dress, a couple of tank tops, and some jeans. As the lady was scanning the clothing, she pulled a heavy small box out.
"Since you are buying over 150 dollars, we can give you a special deal. We'll cut the price to half if you include a love potion," Samatha said as she got out a medium sized heart-shaped bottle with "Love potion" engraved on it. Now that's just fake, who would give out love potions to customers even if it's real!?
"Why not? If it cuts the price to half, anything is worth it," I agreed and signed. It doesn't really matter if it's fake. I'm still paying, because I lost a bet with Seo-yun a long time ago. After I tapped my card, the lady gave me the bag with the potion. I immediately gave everything to my friend. I didn't want anything and I never want to come back here again, no matter if it has low prices and nice clothing. It gives me uneasy vibes. Seo-yun, on the other hand, was skipping out of that place.
"It has such great deals! And a love potion? Come on Nari, it isn't bad," she persuaded.
"I guess it is fine. But I bet ya the love potion is fake. They're just marketing, Seo-yun. No one ever sells love potions like that," I stated, but she doesn't seem to pay attention. School starts tomorrow and I hope everything goes okay.
