YOU SAT ON THE TOILET seat in the cramped confines of the school restroom, scrolling through your phone. the cold, tiled walls seemed to close around you, but you found solace in the brief escape from the bustling school environment.

the fluorescent lights above hummed softly, blending with the distant sounds of laughter and chatter echoing down the hallways. it was just another ordinary day, a momentary respite from the world outside.

the restroom door creaked open, and you tensed at the sound of approaching footsteps. two girls entered, their voices low but clear in the otherwise quiet space.

you couldn't help but overhear their conversation, and it didn't take long to realize they were talking about you.

"she acts like she's so perfect," one of them whispered harshly. "always strutting around like she owns the place."

"yeah, and did you see her in class today? so full of herself," the other girl added, a bitter edge to her tone. "it's like she thinks she's better than everyone."

your frown deepened as irritation bubbled up inside you. you weren't one to let such things slide, and you certainly weren't going to sit there and listen to them trash-talk you.

with a deep breath, you stood up, pocketed your phone, and pushed open the cubicle door with a firm hand.

the sudden movement caught the girls' attention, and they snapped their heads toward you, eyes wide with shock.

they stared at you through the mirror, frozen in place as if caught red-handed. for a moment, the room was filled with tense silence.

"uh, we didn't mean—" one of them stammered, her voice wavering as she struggled to find an excuse.

you met their eyes in the reflection, your expression cold and unimpressed. "save it," you cut her off, your tone icy. "i don't need an explanation."

they exchanged nervous glances, clearly at a loss for words. you took a step closer, your presence commanding the small space.

"you know," you began, a smirk playing on your lips, "it's funny how you waste your time talking about me when you'll never even come close to my level."

the girls' faces flushed, embarrassment and anger flickering in their eyes. you continued, not bothering to hide the arrogance in your voice.

"so, next time you decide to gossip, at least pick a target you can actually compete with."

with that, you turned on your heel, leaving them standing there in stunned silence. the door closed behind you with a soft click, and as you walked down the hallway, you felt a sense of satisfaction.

you had put them in their place and reminded them of the difference between you and them. they could talk all they wanted, but in the end, you knew exactly where you stood — and it was far above them.
