What Is Life?
Third Person
As they arrived at the restaurant, Heaven's eyes widened in awe. The building was a masterpiece of elegance, with a sweeping driveway lined with perfectly manicured hedges and vibrant red flowers that seemed to dance in the soft light. The facade was a warm, honey-coloured stone, adorned with intricate gold designs that shimmered like diamonds in the evening sun.
"Wow, this is gorgeous,"
Heaven breathed.Alessandro smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
"Glad you like it."The sign, "Luna- Mia De Luca", was written in bold, cursive script, with the words "Luna" and "Mia" in a deep, rich red, and "De Luca" in gold, as if to signify the family's legacy. The doors, made of solid wood, were adorned with gold handles shaped like acanthus leaves, adding a touch of classic sophistication.
Heaven's gaze fell on the sign, and her eyes widened.
"De Luca? As in... your last name?"
Alessandro nodded. He was so proud of his aunt restaurant - it was a true masterpiece, a testament to the beauty and elegance of Luna-Mia's favourite colours, red and gold.
Alessandro's expression faltered as he thought of her, and he looked away, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Luna-Mia was my aunt's name. She...she passed away a few years ago."
Heaven's heart went out to him, seeing the pain in his eyes. She squeezed his hand gently, offering comfort.
Alessandro's eyes clouded, his gaze drifting away as he thought of his mother. Heaven noticed the sudden change in his demeanour, the pain and vulnerability flashing across his face.
She gently squeezed his hand, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Its okay, you don't have to talk about it"Alessandro's expression faltered, his eyes darting back to hers. He took a deep breath, his voice low and rough.
"Thanks, I...I'm not ready to talk about her yet."
Heaven's eyes filled with understanding and compassion. She nodded softly, her voice gentle.
"Okay, babe. I'm here for you whenever you're ready."
Alessandro's gaze held hers, his eyes searching for something. Then, he nodded, his expression softening.
"Grazie, Heaven. Let's go inside."
As they entered the restaurant, Heaven turned to him with a gentle smile.
The butler, Marcello, approached them with a familiar smile.
"Welcome back, Mr. De Luca."
Alessandro nodded, his eyes never leaving Heaven's face.
"Marcello, this is Heaven."
Marcello's smile widened as he greeted Heaven. "Delighted to meet you, Miss Heaven. Right this way, please."
As they followed Marcello through the restaurant, Heaven couldn't help but notice the warmth and familiarity between Alessandro and the staff. It was clear he had been here many times before.
