"As children, we are told tales of wonder and magic. They speak of legends and myths, amazing and terrible things. I wish I could be part of such a world"
Metal Poison: Restless Absolution
[We live in a world where every day, the sun grows colder. For reasons beyond science and comprehension, our star is dying ever so slightly every single day. As the world was slowly plunged into a never-ending winter, we began to fight. In an act of unprecedented solidarity, countries bonded together into super nations, with lesser, poorer nations clinging onto the bellies of the superpower giants which they surround.]
Vandeton. The land of the Saber Foxes who prioritize technological advancement to save themselves from the frost. Their land is mountainous and plagued, or perhaps blessed, with eternal thunderstorms which they harvest to power their cities and research.
Celestius. A place high up in the clouds where the Cloud Cats reside. The cold weather seems to have little consequence for them. They sit upon a plateau always shrouded and nearly inhospitable to anyone else. They concern themselves little with the ways of the world but are at odds with Asahonoi with a seemingly endless dispute over their holy land.
Asahanoi. The ancient empire of Kitsune. Being a place with an abundance of geothermal activity, they have more or less been spared from freezing, but they are not spared from all those around them who covet their land. Cities are built along cliffs near streams that flow from the numerous hot springs located everywhere. Their tradition is law and all who trespass against it are worse than scum.
Vyndelhau: Tribes of Rokah, bird people, who live among the giant trees that still stand even though their lush home has been converted into a frozen wasteland. Deep in the forest, they are protected from the wind chill and the trees themselves live and breathe warm air which is if not a small blessing. Vyndelhau can only be described as a sea of green now buried in a blanket of white creating a dome, a sanctuary where only those who are connected to the forest can navigate without getting lost. The Rokah are not highly regarded, being thought to be nothing but thieves, crooks, and slaughterers, so they keep to themselves.
Starblitz: The packs of Ilikosy, inorganic creatures of silicon crystal and ooze. They appear as a wicked visage of the other peoples. Is it even possible for them to freeze? This is something many ponder. The caves often provide solace from the cold, as do the warm radiant lights from the many crystalline structures that pierce the ground of their resource-rich geography. The Ilikosy desire to make the world in their image, and perhaps now is the time for them to act so that the world can shine brightly once again.
Windash: Perhaps hit the hardest out of all the nations. Consisting almost entirely of harsh mesas and desert, the cold razes the land with its frost burn. The only concession to the Vizaloan, fiery lizardfolk with colourful, burning scales, is that they practically exude heat from their bodies and are used to getting by on little to nothing.
Shando: Once was an inspiring aquatic kingdom of Cendo, shark people, but since the frost has come, the waters have become increasingly treacherous with icebergs that can tear any vessel to pieces. One can only hope that they found a way to survive these cooling waters.
The seven super nations, standing side by side on a now supercontinent where every land has been connected with bridges of ice across seas and rivers. The world has begun to die, and while every nation has managed to hold out until now, the situation grows more dire with every passing season. One day there will be no sun at all, and who will live then? Plants die, waters grow still, and winds cease. Having to rely on their coal and oil or unusual circumstances to generate power to keep their people warm, the advent of robotic warfare has become the new frontier for conquest in hopes of securing a future for themselves.]
