Rogue opened her door the next morning to see a guy with thick red glasses and brown hair. She stood, amazed by this stranger as if she'd known him forever.

"Scott?" "That's me. I'm here to show you around. Are you ready?" "Yeah, sure", she said, snapping back to earth.
"After you."

"The dinning room is connected to the kitchen, and there's a backdoor there, which loops back to the court." Rogue nodded as they walked towards the elevator. "We should get over to the Wreck room." "Wreck room?" "Training room", Scott said. "It's like a big gymnasium."

He meant to say the warroom, but the Prof hadn't told her about that yet, and wanted to give her some time to adjust, before throwing her into Logan's run.

When they reached the training room, the other xmen were already there waiting for them. The professor smiled at her. "Rogue, today we're going to be studying the art of meditation. Alright?"

Logan rolled his eyes.

Art Of meditation was Xavier's way of saying sitting like ducks. The only one who could benefit from it is Jean, but these other bozos should be running track or weight lifting.

"Now, Meditation is more difficult than it seems. Everyone take their seats."

Rogue stood by Scott, but realized the Wolverine was on the otherside of her.
She could've sworn that he growled at her. She moved closer to Scott, in hopes that he would defend her.

Logan had it out for her, and she knew that. She knew very well how sharp those claws were, and that he wasn't too afraid to use them either. She looked up to see Jean on the otherside of the room, motioning discreetly for her to join her.

She nodded eagerly and sprinted to her.
Jean felt safe. There was something so magnetic about her, something that made Rogue feel like she wasn't a freak.

"Empty your minds. Relax."
Annemarie didn't get that. Isn't everybody listening to a voice in their head, monologuing every single thing in their day to day? It's impossible to stop thinking.

"Nothing's impossible Annemarie", Xavier said aloud. Rogue was instantly embarrassed. "It takes a lot of work, there's no rushing these things."

Rogue almost emptied her head, as a door burst open. She jumped, along with the rest of the X-men. A man with a trenchcoat sauntered into the room.

"Mr. Lebeau, how many times must I tell you? Don't charge the doors." "Sorry Prof, Gambit overslept." "Overslept, or overdrank", Scott asked. "Sorry that Gambit needs more than one-" " That's enough", the professor said, before they could go any further. "That's not the example we want to set for Ms. Darkholm."

That was the first time Gambit noticed the new person in the room.

"Oh, uh..." He fidgeted his fingers. "Sorry."
Annemarie nodded awkwardly, feeling put on the spot.

"Now Mr. Lebeau, if you'd have been on time, you'd know that we're working on meditation."

Gambit sat down next to Scott, and began meditating. After a few minutes he opened an eye, to make sure no one was looking. Then he leaned past Scott, trying to get a better look at the belle femme.

Their session ended, and Gambit was the first one out of the room.

He leaned on the wall, turning a card over in his hand. He waited for Jean and the femme, and shot them a smirk. Jean was the only one who noticed. The other was too busy talking with Jean, and didn't even turn his way.
He'd only gotten a Sideview, she looked even better close up, but that still wasn't enough.

Gambit held the card out just as Scott walked past. He tucked the card under his chin.
"What's da deal with the femme?"

Scott shoved the card away. "That's the Rogue." "The one dat took da wolverine?" "Yeah. " "So she's tough, no?" "Don't even think about it, Cajun."

They turned to see Logan behind them.
"Jean says she's on our side, but any of Mystique's are trouble. 'Sides, Gumbo, you so much as touch her, and you'll wake up in the hospital." He grabbed him by his jacket. "So don't."

Gambit nodded, and Logan dropped him, and started off towards the elevator.

"Logan still got dem claws in a twist, yeah?" "It's not a game Lebeau. She's an energy vampire."
Remy bit his cheek as Scott walked away.

This femme fatale that wormed her way into the school? Could she really be as bad as her mere?

The Rogue had stuck with Jean Grey for quite sometime. It was when Jean went off to the shooting range, that they were separated. Rogue was just about to follow her when a strong voice beckoned to her.
"Rogue!"
Annemarie spun on her heals. She saw the woman with hair as white as lightning. The weather witch, mystique had called her. "I think it best that you come with me." "Me?" "Yes. Logan has no place for you." She nodded, and followed her to the elevator. They sat in silence, waiting for the doors to open.

She eyed the woman. It had been her mission to fight her off, to keep her from finding Logan. She had underestimated her entirely. That woman was powerful, and if Jean hadn't dragged Marie down, she would have fought to the death.

Storm walked her to the gymnasium.
"This is your arena. While the others go to the Range, you will train with me."
Annemarie said nothing, keeping to her self. Storm turned to her.

"You're afraid." Rogue locked eyes with her. "Ah should've listened to you." She nodded. "You should have."

After a moment Storm's eyes softened. "Suggestion is a dangerous weapon. Raven uses it well."

There was a silent understanding. It wasn't quite an apology, but the willingness to make one.

"Hank says you've enhanced strength. Let's see."
