The living room was quiet, with the soft hum of the evening settling over the group. Most were engaged in their own activities: some reading, others chatting quietly. Greyson had been looking forward to a slice of cheesecake he had carefully saved for himself in the fridge.
He had taken a moment to check on it, but to his dismay, it was gone. Greyson’s usual calm demeanor was replaced with a rare and intense irritation.
Without warning, he stormed into the living room, his voice echoing with frustration. “WHO THE FUCK—?!”
The room fell silent as everyone turned to look at him. Sterling, sitting on the couch and reading a book, immediately looked up with a stern expression. “Greyson, watch your language. There are others here.”
Greyson halted mid-sentence, his eyes wide as he realized he had been cut off. He took a deep breath, visibly trying to calm himself. His anger, however, was still palpable. “I’m sorry,” he said, trying to maintain composure. “But WHOM THE FUCK ATE MY FUCKING CHEESECAKE?!”
The group exchanged bewildered looks. Ren and Onyx looked at each other in confusion, while Tixo and Wei tried to suppress their laughter. Riggs, always quick to react, put down his phone and eyed the scene with curiosity. Xul, who had been quietly observing, raised an eyebrow in mild amusement.
Sterling set his book aside and approached Greyson. “Alright, let’s calm down. I’m sure it was just an accident. We’ll find out who did it.”
Greyson’s eyes scanned the room, his frustration not yet eased. “It was my last slice. I had been looking forward to it all day.”
The room was filled with a mix of apologies and awkward glances as everyone tried to remember their last interactions with the cheesecake. Riggs finally broke the silence with a mischievous grin. “I might have seen someone heading to the kitchen earlier...”
Sterling shot Riggs a look, knowing he was probably up to something. “Come on, Riggs, don’t tease. Let’s just figure out what happened.”
As the group tried to piece together the mystery, Thorne walked in, having heard the commotion. “What’s going on?”
Greyson, still visibly upset but calming down slightly, explained the situation. Thorne listened attentively, then offered a comforting hand on Greyson’s shoulder. “Hey, I get it. We’ll make sure you get another slice.”
The group eventually discovered that Xul had innocently taken the cheesecake, mistaking it for a shared treat. Xul, embarrassed by the mix-up, immediately offered to make amends by baking a new cheesecake.
Greyson’s frustration faded as he saw Xul’s genuine apology. He took a deep breath and nodded. “Alright, Xul. Just please… next time, ask before taking someone’s last slice.”
Xul nodded vigorously. “Understood. I’ll make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
With the mystery resolved and a new cheesecake promised, the group settled back into their evening. Greyson, though still slightly miffed, felt better knowing the situation was handled. The room’s atmosphere relaxed, and the group resumed their activities, now with a shared chuckle over the cheesecake incident.
Greyson, still a bit embarrassed by his outburst, joined the others with a sheepish smile. “I guess I overreacted a bit. Thanks for understanding.”
Sterling patted him on the back. “Don’t worry about it. Just remember to save some cheesecake for the rest of us.”
The group shared a laugh, and the evening continued on a lighter note, with everyone looking forward to the next slice of cheesecake—this time, hopefully, without any drama.
