Chapter 1: The Prince

I lived in a land far away. Where the animals live freely and don’t have to worry about danger. The view was beautiful. Flowers dotted the lime green ground, and just at sunset and sunrise it just takes your breath away, makes your heart stop beating, and makes you want it to stay like that forever. Butterflies flutter around while the forest is in the background.

Then one day a lovely prince came by. He didn’t like anything and thought he was better than anyone and everyone. He needed a place to stay at our hotel. We couldn’t see his face because it was covered by a mask. It was really weird that he did that.

“May I have a room, please,” he said. He wouldn’t say his name.

“Okay. Your room number is 32A. Here is your key and have a nice stay,” I said handing him his key. As soon as I did I touched a little bit of his skin by accident and his hand was freezing cold. He pulled back really fast and put the key in his pocket.

“Thanks.” That’s all he said and left.

The next day, we didn’t see him come out of his room at all. He locked himself in his room. When we gave him food he would only take a few bites and send it back down. It was kind of weird.

When it came to night, he would come out and go for a walk. He wouldn’t come back until sunrise. Then he would lock himself in his room again. He did this for many days and many nights. He also has a pet tiger. The tiger would watch the door at night when the prince went on long walks or the prince would take the tiger with him.

Soon I started to wonder where the prince was going. So I followed him. Tonight his tiger was watching the door.

“I’m going to the store, Mom,” I told my mom.

“Okay, but don’t be late or get lost,” she said, “You have school tomorrow.”

“Okay,” I answered back to her.

I left that night to follow the mysterious young prince. He went through the forest and down a path to a lake that I didn’t know was there. He stepped into the lake and sank down deep. Then disappeared. I stepped into the lake but then the lake turned into mud.

I went to the store like I told my mom. I brought a list just in case. I turned around and the young prince was right in front of me.

“I know you were following me. I saw you,” he said.

“How did you see me? You didn’t look behind you once,” I said

“I have senses that you wouldn’t know of,” he said.

I backed up just a little.

“What are you going to do?” I asked him.

“Nothing right now but if you follow me again, I will kill you,” he said.

Then he turned on his heels and disappeared into the night. It was a little bit weird that he did that and came out of nowhere and disappeared into thin air. I got the rest of the food on the list. Then I turned around to leave. I was going to a place I never wanted to go again.

When I got home, it was 6:43 pm.

“Mom I’m home,” I said. There was no answer. “Hello. Is anybody here? Mom!” Still no answer.

I went upstairs to my mom’s room. I looked around.

Creeeaaaak!

SLAM!!!!

The door was slammed shut behind me.

“I changed my mind. I’m very hungry, so I’ll kill you. Don’t worry, it’ll be painless.” A voice said behind me.
