The sun had just begun its descent, casting a warm, golden hue over the training grounds.
Midoriya Izuku, also known as Deku to others, wiped the sweat from his brow and took a deep breath, savoring the moment of calm after an intense training session. His muscles ached, but it was a good kind of ache, the kind that reminded him of progress and growth.
"Hey, Izu!" called a familiar voice. Deku turned to see Sero Hanta jogging toward him, a wide grin plastered across his face. The sight of Sero always made Deku's heart skip a beat, and today was no different.
"Hey, Hanta," Deku replied, smiling back. "How was your training?"
"Pretty good," Sero said, plopping down beside Deku on the grass. "But I think I could use a break. Would you like to take a walk with me?"
Deku nodded eagerly. The two had been dating for a few months now, and these quiet moments together were something he cherished deeply. They walked side by side, the silence between them comfortable and filled with unspoken understanding.
As they reached a secluded spot by the lake, Sero stopped and turned to face Deku, his expression suddenly serious. "Izu, there's something I've been wanting to tell you."
Deku's heart pounded in his chest. "What is it, Hanta?"
Sero took a deep breath. "I know we've both been so focused on training and becoming better heroes, but... I just wanted you to know that being with you, it means everything to me. You inspire me every day, and I'm grateful to have you by my side."
Deku felt his eyes sting with tears, overwhelmed by Sero's sincerity. He reached out and took Sero's hand, squeezing it gently. "I feel the same way, Hanta. You've so supportive in my goals. I don't know what I'd do without you."
Sero smiled, his eyes shimmering with emotion. "So, what do you say we make a promise? No matter what happens, no matter how tough things get, we'll always be there for each other."
Deku nodded, his voice steady despite the tears threatening to fall. "Always."
They leaned in, their lips meeting in a tender kiss, the world around them fading away. In that moment, it was just the two of them, united by their love and determination to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
As they pulled away, Sero chuckled softly. "We should probably head back before the others start wondering where we are."
Deku laughed, feeling lighter than he had in days. "Yeah, let's go."
Hand in hand, they walked back to U.A., ready to tackle whatever came their way, because together, they could overcome anything.
Days turned into weeks, and the intensity of their hero training increased. One afternoon, a high-stakes mission called for all hands on deck. Villains had launched a surprise attack on the city, and the students of U.A. were sent to assist the pro heroes.
Amidst the chaos, Deku and Sero fought side by side, their bond giving them strength. But in the heat of battle, the main leader of the attack targeted Deku, a devastating attack heading straight for him.
"Sero, watch out!" Deku yelled, but it was too late. Sero, acting on instinct, used his Quirk to shield Deku, taking the full brunt of the attack.
"HANTA!" Deku's scream echoed through the battlefield as he rushed to his fallen boyfriend's side. Sero lay on the ground, his breathing shallow, blood staining his uniform.
"No, no, no," Deku whispered, tears streaming down his face. "Stay with me, Hanta. You promised."
Sero's eyes fluttered open, and he managed a weak smile. "Always," he whispered, his voice barely audible. "I... love you, Izuku."
Before Deku could respond, Sero's eyes closed, and his hand went limp in Deku's grasp. The world around Deku seemed to shatter, the pain in his heart unlike anything he had ever felt.
In the aftermath, the heroes managed to drive back the villains, but the victory felt hollow. Deku stood by Sero's grave, the promise they had made echoing in his mind.
"I'll always love you, Hanta," Deku whispered, placing a trembling hand on the gravestone. "And I'll keep fighting, for both of us."
With a heavy heart, Deku turned and walked away, the memory of Sero's smile giving him the strength to move forward, knowing that their love would forever be his guiding light.
