He crossed his arms, his eyes narrowing as he stared you down. "Hiro told me what was happening. You're being reckless, again," he growled, his voice dripping with frustration.
You blinked, still trying to process how he had shown up so suddenly. "Wait, did you seriously abandon your date just to lecture me?" you shot back, half in disbelief, half in annoyance.
Bakugou's scowl deepened. "You think this is a joke? You could've gotten yourself killed out there, or are you really that much of an idiot?"
"Yeah, well, I'm not the one who ditched someone to come play hero!" you retorted, your frustration bubbling to the surface. "I had it under control."
His jaw clenched, his gaze never wavering. "That's not what it looked like to me."
Bakugou's eyes suddenly flicked to your arm, his expression shifting from anger to something more concerned. He stepped closer, his gaze fixed on the deep gash now drenched in blood, with crimson droplets rolling down to your fingertips.
"Shit," you muttered under your breath, your tone softer but laced with worry. "When did it get this bad?"
Bakugou's eyes narrowed as he stepped closer, his concern clear despite the scowl on his face. "Are you trying to bleed to death? What the hell were you thinking?"
You forced a grin, trying to downplay the situation. "If I couldn't handle a wound like this, I wouldn't have made it this far as a hero."
His expression remained hard, but there was a flicker of something gentler in his eyes. "That's not the point," he said, his voice quieter now. "You shouldn't have to handle this alone."
"It was just a minor slip up," you said, trying to sound nonchalant despite the pain in your arm. "There were more villains than I anticipated, but I managed. Besides, I got some information on our case. Eclipse is planning something big—"
Before you could finish, Bakugou suddenly ripped the sleeve of his shirt without warning. You stared at him in shock. "The hell are you doing? That looked expensive!"
Without saying anything, Bakugou gently grabbed your arm, wrapping the torn fabric around your bleeding wound. His touch was surprisingly tender, and you couldn't help but be taken aback by the contrast to his usual rough demeanor.
The silence between you stretched out, the only sound being the rustle of the fabric as he secured the makeshift bandage.
"You didn't have to do that... Plus, now you look like a dork."
Bakugou sighed, his irritation evident as he finished tying the fabric around your arm. "Do you ever take anything seriously?" he muttered, his eyes flicking up to meet yours.
"Well, that would be quite unlike me, wouldn't it?" A small smile tugged at your lips, trying to lighten the mood despite the tension in the air.
Just then, Hiro's voice crackled through your earpiece. "Tempest is everything alright over there?"
You jump slightly, a little surprised by Hiro's sudden chime in, before letting out a frustrated sigh. "Yeah, everything's fine. But I've got a bone to pick with you about notifying Bakugou. I didn't need him showing up here."
Bakugou shot you a questioning look, but you waved it off as you continued speaking into the earpiece. "I had things under control, and now I'm stuck with an unwanted guest."
Hiro's muffled response was apologetic, but you barely registered it as you turned your attention back to Bakugou, who was still focused on your injury, the concern in his eyes unmistakable.
Bakugou let out a huff, clearly frustrated but trying to keep his cool. "We're done here. Let's get out of this mess," he said, glancing down at you, still gripping your arm gently. "Come on, you're coming with me."
