Branch and Poppy One Shot

Poppy's Fear

Branch and Poppy are dating but Poppy is scared of one thing. Can Branch figure it out?

Poppy and Branch had been dating for a couple of months and it was great for him, he got the troll of his dreams who loved him, they spent time together, going on dates, and being there for each other but he felt something was missing.

He was sitting under a tree working on some poetry when he heard something he looked up to see a couple of trolls arguing both shouting and glaring at each other.

''Come on I had forgotten about it with everything going on it was one time.'' The male said.

''Once please this was gonna be the first day we've had in months!'' The girl shouted folding her arms.

''Well, we are both free now so why don't I make it up to you and we go on one now your pick. I am very sorry.'' He said pleadingly rubbing her shoulders.

She smiles and turns as they hug and share a kiss and walk hand in hand.

Branch smiled at that but then it it him. Ever since dating Poppy they never had an argument; they teased and bantered a lot leading to kisses and cuddles, but they had never fought since dating. He once missed a date due to overworking and falling asleep and instead of getting upset and arguing she nodded and put her head down walking back to her duties which he swore he was gonna get it from her but nothing. They argued over everything when they were friends, she would correct him or call him out and question him pestering him. It made sense if he had an idea for them or came up with one Poppy never called him out regardless of seeming to disagree, so he decided to try something to see if that was the case.

He got up and went to the royal pod where she was filling out paperwork he smiles at her in the doorway. ''Hey babe.'' He said.

''Hey Branchie glad your here.'' She smiles that sweet smile and stands up as they hugged, and she pecked him on the lips going back over to the papers. ''So, what brings you here?'' She asked.

''Well, I had an idea, Poppy.'' He said.

''Oh, and what is that?'' She turned her attention to him.

''Well giving all the creatures we've had getting in I say what if I set up more traps?'' He said.

She looked at him and smiled a tight smile most wouldn't notice but Branch noticed her eyes seem to be saying something else.

''More traps um how close are you thinking?'' She asked stiffening.

''Well, I thought right on the outskirts of the village just to be safe.'' He said watching her face.

Um well... I guess that would work I mean we will have to warn the kids because they usually go out there.'' She said looking down and she sighed.

She loved Branch more then anything but to put more traps that would capture the puffelo or little trolls or some unsuspecting troll. She wanted to tell him no, saying it was a bad idea and that it was over the top and argue with him until he backed down, but her biggest fear was getting into an argument with Branch, she was scared she would lose him and his love.

He was a sensitive troll and she felt bad for not always listening and she could see them in a argument and he just up and leaves her she kept that too herself.

He frowned a bit and went over to her. ''Poppy are you ok?'' He asked.

''Yeah, I'm fine busy and tired.'' She said.

His theory was correct he was gonna try one more time. ''So, while on the business of this I thought maybe we could limit the parties to only 3 parties a day.'' He said knowing how she felt.

She twitched and looked ready to call him out, but she sighed. ''I will talk to the trolls and see what they say.'' She said looking away and with a frown on her face.

He walked over to her and lifted her chin. ''You know I've noticed something with us.'' He said.

She looked up. ''I noticed actually another couple helped me out but you and me have never had an argument it seems like you usually let me have my way since we started dating. What's with that.'' He asked staring into her eyes.

Poppy couldn't take it and she sighed and looked down. ''Branch I don't want you to leave me or stop loving me.'' She cried as she hugged him tightly.

This caught him off guard as he hugged her rubbing her back. ''Poppy... why would I leave you and I could never stop loving you.'' He looked at her as he was on his knees coming closer to her as she was sitting. ''What brought that up?'' He asked.

''I'm scared to get into an argument with you because if we fight way too much you might leave me and stop loving me and I couldn't take it I know I'm stubborn and hard to get along with some, but I don't want to lose you.'' She cried and hugged him again rubbing her head in his shoulder.

''Poppy, Poppy all those things I love about you yes, your annoying and loud and stubborn as I am but I love that about you, and argument and fighting are part of a relationship.'' He said.

''I know but there were a few times we were arguing, and you walked off not talking to me for weeks.'' She said sighing.

It hit Branch hard to hear that and she wasn't wrong he would, but he never stopped loving her and little did she know he would still watch out for her. ''I remember and I'm sorry for that but to be fair the real reason I walked away from you after arguments is because if I would have stayed I would have ended up pinning you to the wall and kissing you senseless.

It may sound weird but us fighting and arguing you standing up and putting me in my place is a huge turn on for me, you're the only one who has enough guts to come up and confront me. And another part of the arguing is so you would stay longer.'' He said looking into her eyes.

She stopped and looked at him. ''You mean you had feelings for me all that time?''

''Yes, plus argument are good for a relationship and I would never leave you or stop loving you I promise but why didn't you tell me I could have helped you out.'' He said.

''Well, I was I don't know I know you're a complicated guy and not quite sure where to push and where to stop at.'' She said.

''That is what makes it a relationship we both will discover what to do and what not to do plus we already know a lot about each other. So, you still want me to set the traps still?'' He asked holding her close.

''No there are enough traps and besides the trollings could get hurt. And also, to that party idea no way we are still keeping the unlimited parties.'' She said firmly.

''Uggh fine we'll keep it that way I guess.'' He said with a fake upset sigh.

''Yes, I will because these trolls still just need to have fun.'' She said standing up poking him in the chest.

He took a sharp breath and pinned her to the wall and kisses her passionately. She wraps her arms around him and jumps in his arms as they share a sweet passionate kiss.
