Lying on the ground was the exhausted figure of Kiyo. He had both hands raised in the air, holding what seemed to be an invisible rope.
"I have to say, for a fearsome prison guard, you died in an anticlimactic way. Yes, yes, you were killed by a rope." Kiyo voiced his thoughts aloud, which only sounded like an inaudible growl.
His new body had a different vocal core than a human's, but he didn't seem to care as he continued to ramble.
"Though it was no ordinary rope," Kiyo revealed dramatically.
He was silent for a moment, then raised the rope again with a hint of excitement in his eyes.
"For one, you can tie this rope around someone, and it cannot be untied. Voila! You now have a dog on a leash. Truly marvellous!" he explained.
"And get this, you can increase the size of the rope just by mentally commanding it. But that's not even the best part. Unlike other memories, it instantly summons. Can you believe all this comes in one? And it's only a dormant rank memory."
His chattering was met with dead silence. After all, his audiences were particularly dead.
One was strangled with a rope to death, the other was stabbed in the heart and turned into an echo.
The person responsible for this despicable act was none other than Kiyo himself.
'They definitely deserved it.' he thought with a sigh as he pushed himself to his feet.
Kiyo immediately began to scan the area, not wanting to make the same mistake.
'I will have to relocate before I can check the new memory.'
'I've been thinking about it for a while. I think it should work.' Kiyo thought as he looked at his echo with a pensive expression.

A bizarre figure plunged through the immense forest at incredible speed. Actually, it was two figures: a fiend and a tiger. The reason they were mistaken for one figure was that the fiend was mounted on the tiger as they moved through the forest.
'I can get used to this.' Kiyo thought.
His plan for the future did not involve riding through a forest full of monsters on the back of a giant tiger, but what else could he do but adapt to the strange situation?
Now that he was no longer hunted by people, Kiyo had time to figure out how to end the trial. He already knew what the goal was: a land on the verge of doom, rising bloodsuckers. Even an idiot could tell that the goal was to put an end to the chaos in this land somehow.
But there was also the other option of ending the trial by letting the chaos sweep through the land.
The nightmare spell had mentioned that this was a trial, and every trial had an end, as far as Kiyo knew.
If every inhabitant of this land were to die, the trial would have to come to an end.
'And then I'm free to go home.' Kiyo thought.
He was willing to take his chances. After all, saving this cursed land would involve him becoming a test subject, and he had his fair share of that.
'Yeah, no. I'm committing mass genocide.' Kiyo decided in a neutral tone as if it was the easiest thing in the world. It was not.
He was indeed much stronger than he could ever have been on Earth, but so were the other inhabitants of this land. The only hope Kiyo had to put an end to the inhabitants of this land was to wait for the war and hope it did the trick.
