Chapter Nineteen
"I know I can be difficult to please, and I acknowledge that it takes much patience to deal with me. But know that I'm working on myself."
"Hrm," Cirilo cleared his throat. "As much as I am grateful for your apology, Princess, I would much rather have gotten it in the morning... in public."
I frowned, "But I had to get it out now. If I didn't, I wouldn't be able to sleep."
"Right, because that reasonably explains why you snuck into an all-male dorm in the middle of the night," Baros said. "I repeat...All. Men's. Dorm.
"Dalton needed to know he mattered to me," I said, turning my attention to Dalton, who was holding his blanket up to his chin.
Too bad for him. I'd already seen everything.
He cleared his throat, "Princess, it is beneath you to ruin your sleep over someone like me, a mere knight."
"But you're more than that, Dalton. You're my over-muscled teddy bear. Just like Baros is possibly my brother but also like a naughty stray kitten. And Cirilo is my twisted personality snake."
"Why am I a snake," Ciril muttered.
Hopping off Dalton's bed, I placed my hands on my hips. "Okay, enough about that. It's time we get to work."
Baros, who'd been leaning his head against Cirilo's shoulder since I'd dragged him from his room to this one, frowned. "Work? Now?"
"Yes, I'm bored, and after my emotional breakdown, I think it's time to do something a bit more physical."
Cirilo groaned, tossing his blanket aside, baring his man legs at me. "I knew there was something else."
I could feel Dalton's eyes probing into me. I looked at him, "What is it?"
He flicked his eyes to the door. "Do you mind...I mean, princess, can you vacate the room so we can change it?"
I tilted my head, "Why?"
"Princess?!"
