Ocean of Longing

Alone I stand by the vast expanse, the sea,
An ocean of longing washes over me.

The waves whisper secrets of times gone by
A lonesome soul adrift beneath the sky.

The seagulls cry out, a haunting melody,
A symphony of sorrow, a melancholy plea,

The horizon stretches far, a distant dream,
And I am but a speck, lost in the stream.

The salt in the air, a billter reminder,
Of the love I once had, now lost forever.

I walk along the shore, my heart heavy,
Longing for a love that's now far from me.

The ocean's beauty in a cruel deception,
A mirror of my soul's eternal reflection.
