It had been two days since Hoobler's death and Easy was all handling it in different ways. Some were angry, some were sad, and some swallowed their emotions and continued on. It was understandable why some of them would react this way; it was easier to be able to move forward if they pushed everything down.
It worried all three medics but what could they do, force the men to talk? That wouldn't go so well.
The men were also upset about Lieutenant Dike, not because anything bad had happened to him but because he was never around. He would disappear for hours at a time and not let anyone know where he was going. He was of no help and it was frustrating everyone.
Everyone wanted him gone but they knew it was not going to happen.

Mariah was sitting on the edge of her foxhole having a cigarette when a camera was pointed in her face. "And here she is, the most beautiful medic!" Luz's voice rang out.
"Luz, what are you doing?"
"Showing the American population the most wonderful medic!"
"I'm so sorry he made you do this." Mariah said to the cameraman.
"It's no problem, ma'am." The cameraman responded, giving Mariah a smile and a wink.
"Alright, why don't we go meet the rest of the men." Luz said, sensing that Mariah was uncomfortable.
'Thank you', Mariah mouthed to Luz. He nodded and led the cameraman away.
The camera man had left and it was time for lunch. Mariah had sat down beside Joe and began to eat when she heard Muck telling a replacement about the injuries each member of the company had sustained.
"Most of these guys and girl have been hit at least once; except for Alley, he's a two-timer. He landed on broken glass in Normandy and got peppered by a potato-masher in Holland."
From beside her Mariah felt Joe shiver. She knew how much that night still bothered him, some nights he would have nightmares and wake up shaking covered in a cold sweat. She would hold him and kiss his head helping him get back to sleep. Mariah moved her food to her lap and began to rub Joe's back.
"Now Bull, he got a piece of exploding tank in Holland. George Luz here, has never been hit. He's one lucky bastard."
"Takes one to know one." Luz responded.
"Now Liebgott, that skinny little guy; he got pinged in the neck in Holland. That pretty girl next to him, Mariah, she got grazed by a bullet in Normandy. Right next to her, the other skinny little guy, Popeye. He got shot in his scrawny little butt in Normandy."
"And Buck got shot in his rather large butt in Holland." When Buck heard his name he turned around, pulled up his jacket, and pointed to his butt.
"It's an Easy Company tradition getting shot in the ass."
"Even first Sergeant Lipton over there; he got a couple pieces of a tank shell burst in Carentan. Took a chunk in the face, another chunk almost took out his nuts."
"How are those nuts doing Lip?" Mariah asked.
Lipton blushed. "They're doing just fine Mariah, thanks for asking."
"You never ask me about my balls." Joe mumbled.

"AH! YOU'VE GOTTA BE FUCKING KIDDING ME!" Toye yelled.
"What's with the yelling?" Mariah asked.
"Someone's gonna die, someone's gonna fucking die. One of those First Battalion fuckers took a dump in my foxhole." She knew it was wrong but Mariah couldn't help but to laugh.
"This is funny to you?"
"I'm sorry." Mariah yelled as she jumped into her foxhole. As she landed she felt something squish beneath her foot, when she looked down she saw that someone had also taken a dump in her foxhole.
"Oh come on, this is so unsanitary."
