*image is a close up of Kenyatta's model in game. This particular image is from Pinterest posted by Beemobee!!! I'm not sure but I believe they have a Palia account by a similar name. I'll try to find out if so.*
According to Kenyatta, the only plus to wearing puffy frufru clothes, is the places you can hide loot.
Oh boy, did she need to hide these ancient tablets.
'I don't even know what I'm supposed to look for! I can't read human runes! Oh ancients, I better get a quality brushtail dragonflies for this....'
She takes a few careful steps, the ancient stones scraping together slightly as she moves. Adjusting their placement, she take another calculated step, the weight uncomfortable strapped to her legs underneath her large skirt.
Making her way through her Grandparents manor, she beelines for the front entrance. Her heart is beating so hard she's convinced someone could hear it.
The frilly fabrics of her outfit rubbing against eachother, the shifting making her worried she'd be caught. She picks up the pace, not even worrying about the clanking as she is just trying to get out of there.
It wouldn't be the first time she left a party so she isn't concerned with people noticing her absence, but being caught with the tablets would certainly mean her doom.
She made it through dinner, she has Eshe as her mom, she deals with her dense but loveable secret boyfriend.
She's Kenyatta, she can do anything!
But this time, she's sure she bit off more than she could chew.
So close, she almost there!
"Kenyatta! There you are!"
.
.
."...what are you doing...?"

I pace back and forth nervously, Nai'o watching me from his spot on the hay bale against the wall. He chews on his nail and we wait in silence. The only light that of the moon and stars shining through the open hayloft door.
2 am.
'Where is Kenyatta? She's supposed to be here an hour ago.'
Every passing minute, the pressure and nerves build.
'What if she got caught? What if the tablets were confiscated? What if she couldn't find them? What if-'
The breezeway door creeks open, startling Nai'o and I out of our thoughts. I swallow hard, sweat beading on my forehead. Nai'o taking a step towards the door, hand hovering by the rope on his hip. The air tense.
Kenyatta slips in, sighing deeply in relief.
I sigh loudly, relaxing now she's here. Nai'o jumps to wrap her in a tight embrace, Kenyatta blushing deeply before shaking it away. Her usual sarcastic smirk returning to its place and she pats his back, rolling her eyes.
"I was so worried about you! Are you okay? How was the family? Please tell me it went smoothly!"
"I'm fine, ya big Ormuu."
She chuckles a little as he releases her and clears his throat, the blush obvious on his face. Nai'o is grateful they're shrouded in shadows but the glow on his face is still bright enough for us to see.
He stutters for a second before the worry bubbles up again and he gently holds her face in his hands pulling her up close to him as his inspects her. Her face squished in his hands, it's hard for her to speak properly. She smiles and pulls away from him, gently holding his hand, as he pouts at her.
"I promise I'm okay, Nai'o."
My heart warms seeing them interact like this privately. I know it's hard for both of them to show affection towards eachother casually and in the open so it's refreshing to get to see such a sweet moment.
Kenyatta turns to me with a more serious expression.
"I'm glad you're safe, Kenyatta. We were getting worried for you. Did you manage to...you know... get anything?"
"Of course I did. I'm the best, remember? You're lucky I like you, human. You owe me big time for these."
She reaches to the satchel she brought with her. I assumed she had managed a few books or scroll or even a tablet. Until the heavy weight of the whole bag weighed in my hands.
My eyes flick up to hers in surprise and she simply nodded.
The whole satchel. I open the top flap of the large leather bag and it's stuffed full. Books, tablets, scrolls, small artifacts, letters...
Dear ancients! It's practically an entire museum exhibit!
My mouth falls open in shock as I stare at the faint glowing runes on the ancient texts. Something in here is bound to mention something about flow magic and the strange happenings around me.
"How did you-"
"Thank my cousin. Eshelon, has be studying and stashing them for years. I almost lost it all. Someone's definitely looking out for you, human. We're all lucky he's the one who stopped me."
Though I've never met you Eshelon, I am eternally indebted to you! I hope all your prospects go well and best of luck to your path proclamation.
"Concider all of my quality brushtail dragonflies yours."

*Hey readers and fellow Palians! Sorry for not posting a chapter in so long. Finals kicked my butt and my kidneys went septic not too long after so I was in the hospital. I've been working since, so it's hard for me to find time to play Palia let alone write. I'm trying to squeeze in more time as the game devs have been releasing more content lately. I plan on releasing at least 3 more chapters within the next week or so to make up for the hiatus. Thank you so much for your continued support! Please let me know your thoughts for anything or any ideas you may have for the story in the future. See you soon!*
