Chapter 2: Voice of an angel

Heat's P.O.V.

"What is that sound?" Killer and Kid said in unison.

"It must be someone beautiful." Wire said sitting on a barrel cleaning his weapon.

"Ok then We might need to find out." Kid said walking toward Heat's and my room.

"When I'm lying in the darkness, and I'm half afraid to sleep. I keep thinking of tomorrow and the thoughts that lie so deep then I pray in talks and whispers cause I know that somewhere near Is the presence of an angel come to hold me through my fear.

And who are you who guides me, my messenger of light, will you walk beside me now Beyond the day and night.

Who are you who guides me with words I cannot write its the voice of an angel, the voice of an angel, the voice of an angel, come to hold me close this night then I close my eyes.

And open the window of my heart for I know that you will listen even though I kiss the dark and as I'm slowly breathing O the night just lingers on.

I hear the voice of an angel Come to calm me with the song and who are you who guides me, my messenger of light will you walk beside me now Beyond the day and night.

"Oi, Heat what are you ---." Kid said walking in and being surprised at the sound of Tessa's voice and the lullaby that she sang to Heat.

When she finished singing she looked up and saw kid at the door listening to her sweet tune and blushed at the thought of him liking the sound of her singing.

Tessa told him that she was born the voice she had cause of her mother who was also born with the same voice, so she showed him which surprised him so he said that she was welcome to sing to the crew if she wanted to.

"Hey Captain, can I talk to alone?" Tessa asked.

"Sure, is it bad?" He asked.

"Well it's not bad, but it's not great either." She said slumping down in one of the chairs.

Kid looked at her confused, so Tessa removed her t-shirt and being in a tank top She showed him what she meant.

He looked at her worriedly and so she told him that there is an amplifier that is keeping her alive.

"Where's amplifier is keeping you alive?" He asked.

"This one." She said showing him the one that was on my stomach.

"Does Heat know?" He asked.

"Yes, Heat was there when I got this." She said.

"Well we migh---." Kid said getting cut off.

"Captain there's a navy ship coming." I said coming in.

"Ok well what are we waiting for." He said.

We got out onto the main deck and waited for the marines to make there move so we could start fighting.

Half way though the fight one of the marines hit me full force knocking the amplifier that helps me stay alive out of my stomach while Kid and the rest of the crew were fighting.

"Hey where's Tessa?" Kid asks frantically.

Kid scanned the ship and found Tessa laying on the deck looking lifeless, so he ran towards her cutting down each and every marine just to get to her.

"Tessa, wake up, c'mon don't---no." Kid said.

Kid got up, turning around slowly, while growling and took down as many marines as he could cause he cared for Tessa as if she was his sister.

After he killed the last little batch of marines he picked Tessa and the amplifier up and took her to the infirmary so he could save her and bring her back.

"Kid are you ok---Tessa what happened---god damnit." I said as he sat there enraged at the navy.

"Heat I know how you feel, I care about Tessa too." Kid said resting his hand on Heat's shoulder.

"Please captain just please bring her back I don't want to loose her." I said. 

"I will bring her back I promise." Kid said.

The next 2 weeks Tessa's POV

"Hey Heat Tessa's ok, we have her in stable condition, yet I have an idea that will help Tessa." Kid said.

"Ok." Heat said still sad that I almost died.

"Heat, trust me she'll be ok we'll get her back to her normal self soon ok." He said.

Heat nodded and went back to what he was doing as Kid left and went to the main deck with the rest of the crew.

Kid was worried for Heat not having his best friend with him everyday so he thought of doing something about it and made a promise to bring Tessa back.

Later that Day

"Oi, Tessa, wake up princess, c'mon." Kid said sitting there waiting for Tessa to wake up.

Kid was really hoping for her to wake up but she didn't so Kid kept trying again and again trying to succeed.

He finally gave up and was about to tell the crew that there crew mate wasn't waking up when he heard a soft voice come from the very person he saved.

"Captain." I said weakly.

"Tessa, thank god your awake." Kid said worriedly surprised and rushed over to my side and pushing hair out of my face.

I nodded letting him know that I was alright, but I shook when I felt a cold breeze run across my body. 
Kid froze and looked for what caused me to shiver and found one of the windows was open so he shut it so I wouldn't be cold.

"Tessa, I'm glad your ok, just don't get hurt like that I don't want to loose a crew mate understood?"Kid asked hugging me.

"Captain thank you and understood ." I said hugging him back.

"No prob." Kid said.

"Now please rest, you need to regain your strength." Kid said.
