Captured Chapter Two

"Christopher!" "Yes?" he answered. "Your father wants to see you." It was one of the maidservants, Sela. "Okay, should I go now?" he asked. "Yes, he would like to see you right away." "okay.", he said as he got up and closed his book. He would read it later.

Christopher walked to his father's study, slowly, to think about what he might want. Sela was trying to hurry him the whole way. She pushed open the doors to the study, and beckoned him in, with a smile. He stepped in, and Sela closed the heavy, wooden doors behind him. Christopher pushed aside the curtain, and went to his father's desk, and sat down. His father saw his unsure expression on his face and said,

"Christopher, of course I need you to do something, but its for you!" "okay.", he said, still unsure. "You want to rule Feirruh, dont you son?" Christopher nodded. "Good, now I have a plan..." 'oh no', Christopher thought. "...to make sure that you will rule all of Feirruh." "What is it?" he asked. "I want you to capture the girl. If we have her, they have to let you rule, to get her back." Christopher knew that he couldn't say no ti his father. "How will I do it?" he asked. "

"You will go as a messanger to the rulers of Cauprom tomorrow, give them a message, and find one of their maidservants. You will say that you have a message for the girl from one of her friends in the village. They will take you to her and you will capture her, and bring her back here." Christopher thought about it and said " it is a long journey back." "Yes it is, and you will have to go on foot to avoid suspicion. Don't worrry. I have a route set out for you." his father said, as he handed Christopher a map.

Christopher had no choice but to agree. After all, he didn't want some silly girl ruling Feirruh when he should. "Good, you will go tomorrow." his father said. Christopher started to leave when his father said, "Oh, and one more thing Christopher. Don't kill her...yet." Christopher nodded. He saw the hate in his father's eyes. He wondered why he could hate someone so much, that he hasnt met or even seen before.

Christopher had a feeling that the girl wouldnt be safe if she was anywhere near his father. He pushed the thought aside and went back to his room to read his book.
