you are just thirteen years old.

a girl in your math class tells you she likes you.

you giggle and tell her shes your friend and you like her too.

you even decide to invite her to your birthday party right then and there.

she looks at you sadly and tells you thats not what she meant.

for a moment you think you feel your heart flutter.

girls cant like other girls in that way.

you just turned fourteen.

you glance around at your party, hoping to catch a glimpse of her.

shes not there of course.

what were you expecting after you ghosted her last year?

you walk into your freshman year math class.

of course you'd see her again in another math class.

you notice her immediately.

she looks just as beautiful as always.

her freckles glittering just like they used to.

your heart races as you scream at yourself to stop acting this way.
