Rafayel sat in his studio, surrounded by canvases and colours. His hands were covered with colourful colour spots, and his eyes sparkled with creativity. Known for his stunning paintings that captured the beauty of the universe, he didn't seem to have noticed me. He was so absorbed in his work that he continued to stare at his work without exchanging a word with me.

The atmosphere in the studio seemed magical - the soft light of the lamps cast long shadows, and the scent of fresh colour filled the room. Rafayel finally seemed to notice me after a few minutes, because he jumped up enthusiastically from his place and approached me. „There you are!" He exclaimed.

„I've certainly been there for 10 minutes."

„Then why do you sneak up and don't say anything?"
He asked and shook his head, with a smile on his lips. Meanwhile, he gestured to his latest works with a hand movement.

„Wow, they look stunning!" I pushed out.

„I'm far from finished, but I have soooo many ideas. I start with a painting and start right away with the second one because I'm afraid to forget something," he said so cheerfully and thoughtfully at the same time that I almost got dizzy.

„I have something special for you," said Rafayel and led me to a large, veiled canvas.

„For me?," I asked doubtfully. He nodded with a gentle smile, pulling the cloth away and revealing a breathtaking painting of me, surrounded by the sea and a sparkling starry sky.

My eyes shone with joy and surprise, and my heart beat incredibly fast.

„I wanted to show you how I see you," Rafayel explained quietly. "But it doesn't do justice to your real beauty," he smiled.

„That's breathtaking and soo beautiful!" I replied to him.

I was speechless with emotion. Rafayel took my hand and led me to an easel on which a blank canvas was ready.

„So, and now it's your turn," he said with a mischievous look.

„The last time you only laughed at me," I said narrow-minded.

„That's just because I can laugh with you," he replied with a smile and gently squeezed my hand.

„All right, I'll try. And woe you laugh at me again!"

We spent the whole day painting together. He sat next to me with another painting. Our hands kept touching, and of course Rafayel laughed at my little mishaps.
„You are really talented," he said and smiled at me.

"Thank you, but I think I have more colour on me than on the canvas," I laughed back.

It was a moment of pure magic. We sat more close to each other than ever before. When I realised this, I first noticed how fast my heart was actually beating. Does he feel the same way? I looked over at him briefly, but there was no sign of nervousness, or anything else there. I thought to myself. We've been together so many times, but today it feels kind of different. We have already had some situations where I thought that he was flirting with me, but does he really did that? Or is it just his way. I...

„Hello?" Rafayel called and waved vigourously with one hand in front of my face. „Did you even listen to me?"

"Oh, uh, what?" I blinked confused. I was so lost in the back of my mind that I didn't notice at all that he probably talked to me. Oops

Rafayel moaned and buried his face in his hands. „It's okay."

„No, really, say it," I urged.

„Hmmm, no," he said and laughed.
