KURRKOI

This happened last summer holidays when I was at my hometown in Kerala

Summer holidays were fun with my cousins Jo , Sally and my siblings , Hannah and John , playing to our hearts delight and eating delicious treats my Granna cooked ..followed by reading comics , fairy tales , sometimes watching movies ( I loved this the most ! )

When we got together , we called ourselves "The Tyrants" , a name coined by my Dad for us but Jo says it was his idea

This incident happened on a Friday , when Mom and Dad along with my uncle Jerry and aunty Grace , went for a sermon out of town and we were with Granna and Grandpa. The best time !!

After having a sumptuous lunch Grandpa put on a movie named ET ... I was watching it for the 6th time , but for the Tyrants , even though they have watched it umpteen times , they huddled and were getting set to watch it again
Not to say I enjoyed every bit of it

Later that evening we went out to play in our tent house next to our barn

Soon heavy winds and rain started lashing away ... we were in the middle of a board game when we heard Granna call us ... "kids come inside it's raining , and dinner is ready"

My cousins , my little brother and sister went back but I was really lazy to go back to the house , moreover I wasn't hungry

" I am reading a book , will come in 30 minutes ,granny... and I am not so hungry now " i shouted back

The wind and rains were making the tent even more cozy and I dozed off

A loud noise, startled and woke me up .. the cows and goats in the barn were making a ruckus , but there was another strange noise like a humming ... HUMM ... HUMM... HUMM ... in intervals

I peeped out and it was pitch dark except the small tube-light at the entrance of the house which was flickering wildly

I was a bit scared but didn't want to shout out , "being a grown up boy of 11 now ... such noises shouldn't scare me" I thought to myself

I came out of my tent ... and what I saw ... just mesmerised me !

The rim of the well was glowing in a strange blue light ... the humming noise was closer now

I stood , looking at the well , in a trance ... soon a brown cylindrical object ... like a tree trunk , but very smooth and shiny was rising up the well

It would have been about 5 feet long but was levitating ... it came to rest 2 inches above the well

I was speechless , I wanted to shout but all I could manage was a gulp ..

This object sort of hypnotised me ..

I heard a click and a small slit opened in the middle , and there was a gaping hole in the middle of this object ..

I stifled a scream , when I saw a small bubble like object come out from the hole

This fascinating bubble had a small creature inside, it was bright pink and resembled the head of a jelly fish but it had big gentle blue eyes and 3 limbs which were stuck to the floating bubble

It almost looked so funny as if it was balancing on the wobbling bubble , like the jelly my Granny makes ... my shock turned into surprise and then into laughter

The bubble was now close to me and the creature inside was almost my height

I was still laughing and I could hear it laughing too , but it was more like I could hear him in my mind

Who are you ? where did you come from ? I asked aloud but my lips weren't moving , it was like I was communicating with my mind

It spoke to me in the same way, but more like pictures in my mind
