Once they were in line they each had a stack of books. Lockhart was signing books and taking the money to pay for them all whle smiling a toothy grin. "What a git." Ron murmured. Harry nodded in agreement. Hermione was next in line. "Wait Mione!" Ron held her back. "Remember you already have the book." He winked at her. "Oh right."
It was in November. Gilderoy Lockhart was holding a contest for best couple. (Just proves how full of it he is.) "Ron! Ron!" Hermione rushed to him. "I have something to ask you!" She said out of breath. "What?! Bloody hell Hermione!" Ron said, laughing slightly at her enthusiasm. "You know Gilderoy Lockhart?" Ron rolled his eyes. "Unfortunately." "Well, he just released a new book and he's holding a contest for best couple and that book is the prize!" "But you don't have a boyfriend." Ron said continuing reading his newspaper. "Yet." Hermione lowered his newspaper. Ron looked puzzled. "What if we fake-dated? You know to win the book?" "Wouldn't that be cheating? Don't you hate cheating?" "Well... no one has to know." Ron was surprised at Hermione breaking the rules but he sort of wanted ti take advantage of this oppurtunity. "Well ok." He agreed.
"I remember!" Hermione put the book back on the shelf and watched as Harry got humiliated being pointed out by Lockhart. Hermione giggled feeling even happier.
