"Stephanie it's time for school!" My mom yelled from downstairs. "Oh crap, it's Monday and I have band. I should have practiced yesterday!" I muttered to no one in particular.
Out of time, I yanked on a pair of jeans and pulled on a sweater. I quickly ran a brush through my light brown hair. Looking in the mirror, I looked pretty tired. I dabbed on some concealer and applied some mascara, accentuating my deep chocolate brown eyes.
As I ran into the kitchen I snatched some toast and an apple and ran out the door with my backpack in tow, after giving my mom a wave goodbye. I turned the ignition on in my old Volkswagen beetle. Even though it was old, I had just gotten it for my 17th birthday after getting my N. On the way to school I turned up the radio to sing along, bobbing my head in time.
When I arrived at school I parked in my usual spot, at the very back. It was always empty because everyone preferred to park in the front. But I had a theory that I'd get much more fit from the short walk, over time it would pay off, I was sure!
In front of Jacksonville High, Cecelia Banks was putting on a show. She had her arm draped around Shane Mitchell, a tall handsome senior. Her boyfriend, well 'ex' boyfriend, Sam Williams was ready to pound him to bits. While other kids were cheering him on, I however was very displeased, fighting was definitly not my style.
"Baby, just ignore him, it's you and me," she wispered into his ear but loud enough for some people to hear, Sam definitly heard her.
"I thought we were special! How could you do this to us?!" He shouted.
"Us?" She scoffed. "We're over Sam, get over it! Shane and I were meant to be together so move on!" she yelled, this time loud enough for everyone to hear.
Without and second glance, Sam Williams walked away briskly, his head held high.
"Whew, that was close! Don't want to see another fistfight." I muttered.
When it came to Cece Banks, she had guys falling for her left and right, she was gorgeous. She had beautiful blonde hair cascading down her back, emerald green eyes and a to die for body. Every guy wanted her and every girl wanted to be her, even me. Her golden locks made my brown hair feel dull next to her. Unfortunatley, her clothes would be what you would call 'slutty' but even so, it showed off her amazing toned body, again, jealous.
"Steph! Earth to Stephanie, are you in there?" One of my best friends said as she waved her hands in front of my face.
"Oh, sorry Luce, daydreaming again!" I replied shepishly.
"Yeah, again" She said while rolling her eyes at me.
Lucy was easily considered pretty. Dark blonde hair, deep caramel eyes and a killer wardrobe made up for a very popular girl. Lucy, however, chose to hang with me, a forgetful girl with average looks and average clothing. For that, I was thankful, I didn't know what I would do without her. We'd hung together since start of freshman year and now at the star of junior year, we had known eachother for about two years, it had been a very fun two years at that!
"Hello, Steph?" She asked.
"Oops," I chuckled.
"Come ON! We have to meet Alex before first period," she said before giving me a tug and dragging me inside the school.

"Finally, you guys!" Shouted Alex.
"Sorry, but you know Steph here.. daydreaming away, like always," Lucy explained.
"Yup,"she agreed.
"Soo.. I drawled out.
Before I could finish, the warning bell interrupted me. Sending me and my friends into a messy whirlwind causing us to collapse. Stuff like this happened a lot. People thought we were weird but hey, we were having fun!
After collecting ourselves we all walked into English together taking our seats close to the back. Yes, you could call me a goody-two shoes but I treasured my friends over the teacher any day. The next hour we read over Macbeth and analyzed it, it was pretty enlightening but my friends sure didn't think so...
"This is so frustrating! How do you even do this, it's crazy," Alex exclaimed.
I just rolled my eyes and let them figure it out themselves, they always did. They were smart, they just needed to focus.
Soon second period and third passed and it was already time for lunch, I was starving! Who said a girl can't have a big appetite? Thank god I took yoga and had a fast metabolism either wise I'd be a goner!
"Hey guys, I'm going outside today okay?" I told them.
"Sure thing, just be safe!" Lucy teased.
I had no idea how the next few minutes of my life would alter my world.
