Teddy Lupin-
It was a loud Friday Night in the Hufflepuff Common Room. People were singing and talking about the first quidditch match of the season. I had been pretty excited about it too, but I had detention. It was getting close to seven and I started to look for Fred.
"Fred, come on. We should start heading to Mrs. Maggs class," I said when I found him.
"Ugh, I don't want to go," Fred said.
Fred got up from the floor and we started to head to the Transfiguration classroom. The halls were quiet, but I knew they'd be loud once on the match started. We got to Mrs. Maggs classroom late. I walked in expecting her to yell at us about tardiness, but she wasn't even there.
"Where the hell is she?" Fred asked me.
"Um, I don't know," I said looking around.
"We sat down at one of the tables and waited. The room was silent and I was looking at the door. Fred was looking around, trying to find a way to get out of detention. Where was Mrs. Maggs, I feel like she would never have been late.
The door opened about 5 minutes later and Mrs. Maggs walked briskly in. She gave us a sly smile and said, "Hello boys, sorry I am late. I was talking to the headmaster."
Fred and I nodded and she looked at us oddly. "Well gentlemen, I'm going to have you write a paper on why transfiguration is important. Because clearly you two don't seem to think that it is very important, when it is," she told us.
I rolled my eyes and got out my notebook. She smirked and walked over to her desk and sat down. Fred looked at me with an angry look and mouthed, "I blame you for this."
I silently laughed and looked down at my blank paper. I quickly scribbled my name at the top. I tried to think of why transfiguration, my least favorite subject, was so important. I could feel Mrs. Maggs eyes on me and I shifted uncomfortably in my seat.
It had been more than 5 minutes and my mind had drifted to quidditch. It was unfair that I was missing our houses first game. I was a beater with Fred and they had to replace us tonight with two 3rd years, who could barely lift the club. I should be out on the field, beating those nasty Slytherin's asses.
I looked up at Mrs. Maggs, who was quietly working at her desk. She looked a bit like Victoire, with her long blonde hair and sharp facial structure. Her eyes were almost Victoire's eye color, the prettiest shade of blue you'd ever see. Mrs. Maggs could not be older than 25.
I looked over at Fred who was writing fast on his paper. Fred's favorite subject had been transfiguration before Mrs. Maggs came. Now he absolutely loathed it. Maybe he was using some of his old thoughts about the subject to write the paper.
I looked back down at my paper and decided to write. I'd try to say why this class was important for a career in the wizarding world. Hopefully Mrs. Maggs would be okay with that. I dipped my pen in ink and started to write.
The paper had started out well, but my thoughts were still on quidditch. About halfway through my paper, I was talking about the importance of quiddtich and how unfair it was that I was missing it. I wrote several paragraphs about this.
When I was about to conclude my discussion in my paper about quidditch, Mrs. Maggs said, "Okay, the hour is up. You may go. Leave your paper on my desk and remember that I don't want any more funny business in my class."
We nodded and quickly gathered up our stuff. On our way out of the classroom, we put the papers on the table and she gave us a tight smile. Fred quickly rushed out of the room and I followed close behind.
"Well where to now? The game is probably still going, we could catch the last bit of it," Fred said.
"Sure, why not," I said.
We started to walk towards the quidditch pitch when someone called our names. "Mr. Weasley and Mr. Lupin, may I talk to you," the voice said.
I turned around reluctantly and saw Mr. Lukeson. He smiled at us and walked into his office. I looked at Fred and shrugged. We followed him into his office and sat down at his desk. He smiled largely at us and I frowned.
"So gentlemen, Mrs. Maggs tells me that you two were fooling around in her class. Is this true?" Mr. Lukeson said in his loud, booming voice.
"Um... ya..." I said nervously.
"Well, I just want to tell you that this is inappropriate behavior and I'm glad to see that she punished you with detention. You both deserved it. I'm assuming she already took points away from our house, but I feel that I should take more. Am I right?" Mr. Lukeson said.
I didn't know if I was supposed to answer. But Mr. Lukeson looked at us expectantly and I said, "Well of course Mr. Lukeson. We do deserve it."
Fred gave me a menacing look but nodded his head. "I'm happy you both agree. 20 points will be taken from each of you. Now, remember to be polite and courteous of your teachers. You are free to leave," Mr. Lukeson said.
I nodded and quickly left. Students that had been at the quidditch game started to arrive. "Well there goes our quidditch game," I said.
"Damn it," Fred said.
"Hey, there is still a victory party if we won," I said.
"True," Fred said and chuckled.
With that we headed towards the Hufflepuff common room.
