One day, 18-year-old Chuuya is walking past the boss's office when he hears his fiancé Dazai talking to the boss.

'Hmm, that's weird, mackerel usually drags me along when he has any kind of meeting.'

Chuuya stops and listens in.

"So you're getting married in a month. Congratulations." Mori said. "Yes, slug is very excited." Dazai replied.

'Is he not also excited? He always seems happy.'

"Good. This marriage will make sure he can't leave the mafia." Mori said.

Chuuya went wide eyed. 'No... no."

"Yes. Like we've agreed, Chibi won't leave if he's married." Dazai said, sounding cold and unbothered.

Chuuya felt his tears start to form and his vision blurred.

"Him staying will also make sure both of the Akutagawa's stay." Mori said. "Those three are very close. Chuuya staying will force them to stay as well. I've already heard whispers of them talking about leaving." Dazai replied.

Chuuya was shocked and took all his will to stay silent. He uses his ability to silently float away and start looking for Ryunosuke and Gin.

He found them after a while of searching. Finding them in an abandoned section of the building. Akutagawa was curled up in a ball, crying, with Gin comforting him.

"Ryuu! Are you ok?" I exclaimed, running up and kneeling in front of him.

"MOM!" Ryuu yelled, jumping into Chuuya's arms, crying his eyes out even harder. Chuuya moved to cradle the crying teen in his arms.

He looked up Gin in concern and confusion, seeing she was also tearing up. Chuuya motioned her to come closer and she hugged him, which he returned.

"What's going? What happened to you two?" He asked concerned. They only ever call him mom either by accident or if something is very wrong.

Gin looked to her brother then to Chuuya. "We don't want to stay here anymore." the 13-year-old said.

Chuuya was shocked but let her continue talking. "We would rather go back to the slums than stay here... But we want to stay with you." She finished, burying her head into Chuuya's chest.

"W-what? Why would you two wanna go back to the slums? What's been going on?" Chuuya asked, tearing up.

Both teens tearfully explained what Dazai had been doing to Ryuu for the past 2 years and how just today Dazai had broken 4 of his ribs, fractures his ankle, shot him 3 times, 1 in each shoulder and 1 in his arm, and had a huge wound on that same arm, obviously caused by a knife and would cause a scar.

Chuuya started sobbing when he saw the injuries in the 16-year-old kid he saw as his own son. He sobbed even more when he realized they were caused by the man he, up until now, loved and wanted to marry.

"Ryuu, I wished you told me. I promise I will never let anyone do anything like that to you again." He cried, hugging Ryuu even tighter.

The three spent a few minutes crying until Chuuya made a decision.

"Ryuu, Gin, Would you two like to come with me to France and start a new life? Away from both the Mafia and Dazai?" He suggested.

The two teens looked at each other then back at Chuuya.

"How? You are meant to marry Dazai-san next month. Why would you want to leave, and even then, how could we?" Akutagawa asked.

"A few months ago, Some people who turned out to be my family reached out to me. They live in France and want me to meet them. I don't really know them but they seem nice. Even if they aren't willing to help us, I have enough in savings to get us a comfortable apartment and be able to give you guys even a semblance of a normal childhood." I said.
