I didn't dare blink even if the lights were close to blinding my eyes. Tiniis ko na para makauwi na ako, I gave them the pose they wanted for the picture and finished it quietly.
"Perfect! Pak na pak na, Jath, check lang namin mabilis." the photographer said and that's my cue to stand up.
The makeup artist immediately walked closer to me and fixed what he needed to fix and my hand reached for the bottled water and clenched my thirst.
I closed my eyes when I felt dizzy for a second but contained myself. I cleared my throat and smiled a little at the makeup artist when I felt someone touching and fixing my hair.
"Last na lang 'to and they were good to go, also done with the band's photo kanina so if you wanna go home, you're free to do so, may masakit ba sa 'yo?" I shook my head and thanked the person fanning me right now silently and continued to close my eyes.
"Sure ka? We can take a break." I heard my manager ask me carefully.
I shake my head and didn't say anything, kung magb-break pa kami mas mapapatagal lang ang pag uwi ko sa bahay ko kaya 'wag na. Tapusin na lang 'to.
When I heard them calling me ay dun pa lang ako dumilat, luckily, the dizziness that was creeping in disappeared. Bumalik ako sa pwesto ko and immediately focused on the camera. I didn't even get the chance to take a deep breath when they continued taking shots.
"Jathen..."
I continued to massage the back of my neck when I turned to see Madrous, nakaabang sila sa akin sa labas kung saan naka set up 'yung ginamit na room para sa solo photoshoot ko.
I nodded at him and I know he's watching me intently.
"Kain muna tayo, or sa bahay na lang?" he asked and finally removed his eyes from me.
I took a deep breath and leaned on the wall beside him and tried to sketch out my body.
Crap, been in bed for so many days now I don't have any fever but my body aches so bad.
Ugh.
"I-ikakasal na ako..." her trembling voice repeated in my mind, making me open my eyes and snapping my head to the side.
Scalsky's worrying eyes welcomed me.
"Okay ka lang?" I looked around and nodded, tumayo ako ng maayos at tumango ulit.
His eyes lingered on me before nodding to the other boys, "Nagluto si Pev sa bahay, kain na lang tayo ro'n, bili natin siyang desserts," they all cheered and excitement enveloped all of them as we started walking to leave the premises.
I tried my best to listen but didn't bother trying to engage with their conversation all the way home, wala rin naman akong maiaambag sa usapan, and besides, I didn't have any energy left in me to join them.
When we entered the house agad nain naamoy 'yung kung ano ang niluluto ni Peverelle sa kusina and I allowed myself to go straightly to the living room so I can sat down.
"Jath.."
"I'm fine," answered someone, and completely laid down on the couch and put my arm around my eyes to not be bothered by anything as I took a rest.
It's been just a few days since I got better, and since that night I talked with her. Bukas, ikakasal na siya, it's been out to the media that we, the band, are attending an old friend's wedding.
Crap that old friend, she was never mine.
I haven't cried about it again, the moment my temperature went down, umalis agad ako ng bahay at bumalik sa sarili kong apartment. I fixed my things and quickly had a conversation with my manager to talk about the days I missed and the work that I needed to delay since I got sick.
