The storm is what had woken her up. The thunder made her jump awake. She climbed out of bed, looking for her parents as silent tears rolled down her cheeks. She knew her dad had said that the lighting would never hurt her but she was still afraid. She gripped her stuffed bear tighter as lightning flashed again.
She wobbled down the stairs toward the sound of arguing from the living room. The hallways were dark except for a little light. She walked towards it, avoiding bumping into the tables and such. Her bear was soft against her fingers as the living walk to the living room finally made its destination.
“I don't care what he has to say Prongs! You are not taking my little girl!” her dad's voice came angrily. He was yelling at her uncle, something she'd never seen happen.
“Sirius it's the only way we can keep our children safe!” her uncle argued back. “Moony you're the more reasonable one here.”
Her papa ran an exhausted hand down his face. He looked at her dad with a sorrowful look. “Pads, he has a point- Dumbledore has a point-”
Sirius shoved him away. “No! Althea is safe with us! She's safe with me and you! I won't send her away! I can't!” Tears were streaming down his face, a far cry from his usual smile.
“Why don't we all calm down,” her aunt Lily tried to mediate. She was holding her cousin in her arms. Lightly rocking him to keep him asleep through the arguing. “We all have high emotions here.”
Her father looked like he was about to explode on the red-headed woman when Althea tumbled through the doorway, holding her small hands towards her father. “Dada,” she mumbled worriedly as she wobbled towards him.
Her Dads looked at her stunned before Sirius rushed forward and scooped her up. He held her tightly to his chest. She could feel tears through the small teddy bear pajamas she wore. She watched her bear fall to the ground only for her papa to pick it up as he stood back a bit.
After a few minutes, her dad pulled back from the hug. He took a deep breath. “You're going to stay with Aunt Lily and Uncle James for a while, Althea. You're such a strong girl and I know you'll have so much fun with your cousin Harry.”
She felt so confused about why a visit to her Aunt and Uncle's would distress her dads so much. She often slept over at theirs, it wasn't a new event.

The lightning had woken her up again. Or at least it made her get out of bed from where her Uncle had tucked her in. She made her way into the hallway as she spotted her uncle. He seemed to have sensed her because he turned towards her, a goofy smile on his face.
“Althea, what are you doing up?” he asked calmly as he took a few steps toward her.
“The lightning,” she mumbled. “Papa always reads to me when it lightnings. It scares me.” She tried to blink away the terrified tears.
He lifted her up. “Let's get you back to bed and pick out a good book huh?” he started to carry her towards her room. “Remus is really making a bookworm out of you.”
“Uncle James, when do I get to go home?” She mumbled as she missed her dads terribly. He looked at her surprise and was about to answer when they heard a loud boom downstairs.
Her uncle put her down quickly. “Althea go find Lily. Now.” He shoved her towards Harry’s room. He never shoved her. She opened her mouth to argue but he cut her off.  “Now Althea Regulus!”
Without another protest, she ran towards Harry’s room and her uncle slammed the door behind her. Her aunt looked at her worried as commotion could be heard. She lifted Althea up and set her in her cousin's crib.
“No matter what happens, I love you two,” her Aunt mumbled as they heard her uncle cry out. Her Aunt turned towards the door. “James,” she mumbled heartbroken.
The door flew open to reveal a hooded man. He walked into the room with his wand pointed. “Your friend betrayed you,” he mocked. Althea could see her Uncle lying on the floor. He looked towards the two children, pointing his wand at them. “AVADA KADABRA-”
At the last second her aunt jumped in front of them and-
