"COME ON JADE! THE YULE BALL IS ALMOST HERE SO WE HAVE TO GO FIND A DRESS NOW!!! EEEEEEEEEEE!" I pulled Jade into Hogsmeade and we looked around. I noticed a shadow disappear behind a building but I didn't care. Up ahead was the dress shop. I raced Jade to the shop, but as soon as I got there, the blinds seemed to pull down and a closed sign appeared. "What?!" I exclaimed. Jade frowned. "let's go find another shop." She grinned and took my hand. We walked away from the shop and looked around again. My hunger suddenly lurched and I moaned. "I haven't eaten anything in ages! Let's go get some butterbeer and cookies." Jade nodded. "Yes. Let's." We walked into the shop and Jade ordered some butterbeer and cookies. She sat down beside me. "So, how's Sirius?" She grinned slyly. I punched her. "Shut up! He's doing great. Very nice actually." Jade smiled. "Does he love you?" I frowned at her. "What's with all the questions? Yes, I think he really loves me."

"Do you like him?" I blushed. "Jade.." I said warningly. She giggled. "I'm your best friend. You know who I love, so I should know who you love. Do you love him?" I made an impatient noise. "Yes," I said quickly. Jade smiled. "There we go. Feel better?" I gave her the 'look' and she smiled. "I'll stop asking private questions, better?" I rolled my eyes and nodded. "You're an idiot." I sighed. Jade elbowed me in the side and pointed up at something behind me. It was the waiter. "Butterbeer and cookies." He said and placed down a plate. He walked away. Jade's eyes flickered to the door and back. She wore a secret smile and a surprised face, but I ignored it. "You know, it would be really funny if Sirius was out here to buy a dress for you while you're also here to buy your own dress." She said loudly. I giggled. "That would be funny. Well if he was, he should know to buy the dress now while we eat our food before we go out ourselves and find another dress shop. But he's not here so after the food, we'll go buy a dress."

"I don't think that would be necessary." She smiled slyly. I gave her a confused look. "I'll buy you a dress tomorrow. -Oh! Lola, I dropped my button outside, I'm just going to get it." I looked at her in confusion. She walked outside and spoke to herself. "Buttons...buttons...ugh where is it?" I thought I heard some whispering but I bet that was Jade. "Go buy her a dress, you idiot! Now!" Jade hissed and I looked surprised. "A! Here it is! Lola! I found it!" She ran back inside with a brown button in her hand. "Why were you whispering about buying me a dress?" I asked. "Ur, because I don't know when I should buy your dress. Now, or tomorrow. I think I'll buy it for you tomorrow once I have enough money. Is that okay?" I nodded at Jade, smiling. "Of course. I don't mind." I heard running footsteps outside and a bunch of whispering. Then the door slammed open and Liam was standing there. "LOLA! COME WITH ME! I NEED YOU RIGHT NOW!!" Everyone in the room looked up. I blushed. This was embarrassing.

"I need you to help me buy a dress for Amber!" He whispered in my ear. I looked down at my finished butterbeer and cookies, then at Jade. "You okay if you go by yourself?" She smiled. "Of course. Go on. Help him" I hugged her and went outside with Liam. "What does she like on a dress?" He asked me immediately, obviously freaking out. "She likes her dress kind of simple. No extreme details because then she would probably not wear it. So I think a sort of skinny but half-puffed dress with little details like a few flowers or sparkles. A sort of relaxed dress. Not tight, but not too shabby. You'd probably want to buy her a yellow or orange dress, and if it's expensive, she would never let you buy it. Got it?" Liam wore a concentrated face. I imagined a loading sign going around and around his head. "Ugh, come on." I dragged him over to a dress shop which looked very nice. Green and pink dresses were displayed at the front.

We went in and I gaped. They were so beautiful! I went straight to the yellow and orange section and looked around. One caught my eye immediately and I asked the wizard at the desk to explain to me the sizes and things. Eventually, it was decided that the one that caught my eye would be perfect for Amber, so I bought it in amber size and put it in a box. I also bought some accessories like earrings and shoes ( I bought them all with Liam's money ). We found ourselves outside the shop and Liam stared at the box. I realized he was memorized of the beauty. I laughed. "Come on, hurry up! We'll be late for dinner!" Once we got back to Hogwarts, I handed him the box and then I hurried off to Dinner without him. I sat down next to Amber who smiled. "And how was your day?" I rolled my eyes. "Idiot. Well, I didn't get to buy myself a dress because Jade told me she'll buy me one tomorrow." I sighed. "I hope I get a good dress that isn't too ugly. -Oh, Liam and I went to buy yo-" I bit my lip. "Buy what?" She asked, chewing on her sausage. She didn't seem to notice my panic. Good. "Ur, buy some...yellow buttercups because I- er, I like flowers and there are none on my- my desk." I bit my tongue and watched Amber's reaction.

She seemed to not think it was suspicious, but I wasn't sure. "Cool! Yellow's my favourite colour-"

"I KNOW YOU IDIOT!!!" I laughed. My eyes wandered of to the table opposite ours and I saw Liam give me a nervous smile. Then I knew that Liam was planning to ask Amber to the ball. I giggled. "Um... do you know who's taking you to the ball? Maybe Liam, perhaps? Do you think he loves you?" I said slyly. Amber froze, then frowned and turned to look at me. "No. We're friends." I smirked. "Well, he doesn't think that."

"He doesn't?" Replied Amber, starting to look troubled. "So we're not friends?" She gave me a worried look. I chuckled. "You are, it's just, that Liam thinks your friendship with him is much more than the grade 'Friends'." Amber sighed. "Thank goodness. I thought you meant he was my enemy! But what do you mean, more than friends?" Her eyes narrowed. I pursed my lips, annoyed that she still didn't understand. "HE LOVES YOU!" I whispered fiercely. She looked at me. "As a friend." She answered and started on her pie. I banged the table in annoyance and started to eat my salad. This was hopeless! "Students of Hogwarts! The day after tomorrow is the Yule ball. Please make sure you have someone to go with and that you have appropriate clothing. For girls, a nice clean dress. For boys, a tight and fancy suit. There will be a big dance and lots of food. And just so you all know, each and every one of you has to dance for at least 10 minutes, got it?" Rang out a nice clear voice. I looked up. It was Dawn. I smiled. But then it turned into a frown. I had no one to go with me to the Yule ball.
