We were having dinner. Afterwards would be our detention. While I was eating my steak and salad, a box landed beside my plate and I looked at it in surprise.

To: My Dearest Lola

From: Sirius Potter

Lola, I wanted to ask you earlier. Would you like to come to the Yule Ball with me? I got you a dress. Your sister helped me.

I opened the box and inside was the most beautiful dress I had ever seen. "Oh, Sirius!" I exclaimed. No one took notice and I turned to the Gryffindor table. "Thank you! And I say yes. Yes!" I shouted over the talking. Sirius heard me and looked delighted. He waved to me. I smiled and sat down again.

After dinner came detention. I put away my dress first before coming to the potions room. Draco, Emily and Amber were already there. "Ah, Lola. At last, you have come. Now. Draco and Amber. You will be cleaning the owl emporium where all the owls are kept. Lola and Emily, you will be polishing the trophies in the trophy room. Got it? And that's for an hour. An hour I say. Now off you go. And don't be late for bed." All of us gaped. Poor Amber though. Me and Emily ran out at once and Amber and Draco followed. We separated in the hall. Me and Emily going to left and Amber and Draco out the side door. I heard a bunch of yells before the door closed, and then I looked in annoyance at Emily. "Will you be playing anymore tricks on me as you've already done in multiple classes?" I scolded. Emily scowled and turned away, starting to walk toward the trophy room. It's time I played a trick on her. With my wand hidden in my pocket, I stalked quietly beside her. "Now what's our plan? You polish one half of the room and I do the other? We'll use our wands right?" She gave me a curt nod. "Obviously you idiot." She muttered.

We ended up at the entrance of the trophy room. I grabbed a piece of chalk from my pocket and drew a line through the middle of the room. Then we grabbed our wands and set to work. I knew the wiping spell so it was easy. Tergo, Tergo, Tergo. Easy, Easy, Easy. Emily, who didn't listen closely to charms, thought that she had to conjure up a wipe and wipe them by hand. Half an hour went past and I had already finished 40 trophies while Emily, on the other hand, had polished 10. She looked like she was completely focused, so thats when I realised that it was time to play a prank. "Accio mouse." I waved my wand. A squeaking and patterning noise arose and a plump white mouse skittered around the corner and into my hand. "Wingardium Leviosa!" I whispered. I knew Emily was scared of all kinds of rodents and insects, so this would be fun. I kept the mouse close to the ceiling, slowly lowered it behind her, and placed him on her neck. I shook off the spell and went on cleaning as if I didn't know that Emily was in trouble.

There was an enormous, loud shriek and Emily came running toward me. "LOLA! SOMETHING IS BITING ME! IT'S A SPIDER! NO, A CRICKET! ARGH! NO! I'TS DEFINITLY A RAT! LOLA! HELP! IT'S BITING ME! GET IT OUT! GET IT OUT!" She shrieked. I fought back my urge to laugh and I looked at her back. I decided to take it even further and so I started pinching her back as well. She shrieked and screamed and tears came into her eyes. I stopped the pinching at once. "GET IT OUT! Please! Get it out!" She cried. But alas, the mouse didn't want to leave the coziness of the robe. It settled down in a crevasse in her robe and fell asleep. Emily couldn't feel it anymore and she calmed down. "Did you get it out?" She half whispered. I thought forward to what would happen if I said yes. Later on, when she takes off the cloak, the mouse would run out and away, and make Emily scream even more. "Yes," I said with a secret smile. "Oh thank goodness." Her tears dried at once and I frowned. Her crying was a Fake! She was a good actor I must admit. She went on with her polishing and I was relieved that she hadn't suspected me for the mouse.

Once I finished my side of the room, I put my wand back in my pocket and called to Emily. "I'm done! You carry on. I'm going to bed!"

"WHAT?" Came a resounding yell. "HOW?"

"Ur, I do lots of jobs at home. Bye!" I ran off at top speed, hoping Amber would be back from the owl emporium. Hel-ga Huff-le-puff. I knocked. I climbed through the open barrel. Daphne, the Hufflepuff prefect who was silently knitting on the lounge, looked up. "Ah. Lola. Where were you? It's almost time for bed. And where's Amber?" She asked. "I had detention for some stupid reason. I had to go clean the trophies with Emily and Amber had to clean up the dry dung in the Owl emporium with Draco. I finished before Emily did and she's still wiping them with a hanky. I used the wiping spell. Plus, I thought Amber would be here already." Daphne shook her head. "No. Welp, go up to bed. I'll watch for your sister and tick her off for being late. Of you go." I hugged her and laughed as I went up the stairs to bed. As I was putting on my nightie and going to brush my teeth, Amber came swooping in with a groan. "Oh, the humanity!" She groaned, striking a dramatic pose and then falling into her bed.

I giggled. "Amber, get dressed and then go to bed. We have Divination after Breakfast and then Astronomy with Freinze, the centaur. I'm so excited!"

"Of course you would be," Amber grumbled, putting on her pyjamas and brushing her teeth. I ate a small biscuit before bed then pulled the covers over myself. "Night," I whispered. "Night" Amber whispered back.
