Chapter 23: Delphi again

"Lola! Thankyou so much! I got out of Arithmacy because of you! I would've had to do scrolls and scrolls of Arithmacy!" Jade cried, jumping on top of me. I fell over and she pulled me up. We hugged. "You welcome. Also, we're having a free period now! So I hope you're happy about that."

"OBVIOUSLY!" She cried. I laughed. Suddenly, something soft got covered over my head. "Guess who!" Said a voice. "Uh, Leah!" I giggled. I pulled the soft hat up and saw Leahs smiling face. She laughed. "Yes! I made you a beanie. Do you like it?"

"Leah! It's beautiful!" I hugged her. Jade smiled. Then I saw Alana running toward Amber. She swallowed her in a hug. Emily came smiling, and then she frowned. "Amber? Who got me out of charms?" She asked "Me," Amber said proudly. Emily stared at her blankly "I think I'll go back to charms" She answered and turned around "You can't!" Amber cried and pulled her back. Alana looked to Amber "How did you do it?" She asked "Do what?" She said, "Convince Harry to get us out of charms?"

"Oh. I didn't need to convince anyone. Dawn's just the BEST" Amber explained. I turned to Jade. "So whats going on between you and Joal?" I giggled. "I've heard some suspicious rumors." I lied. Jade blushed. "Ugh! I've fallen for him! I'm so sorry but I have! I wish I hadn't but he has become a bit nicer-"

"NO WAY!" I giggled. Leah cracked up laughing, leaning over. Jade bit her lip. "Whoops. You didn't know did you?" I shook my head in laughter. "No, I just wanted to know if you were keeping a secret from me and it turned out to be true!" Jade rolled her eyes. "Of course. I better watch out for that next time." Amber came over and shuffled my shoulder "Ow! What?" I asked. Ambers eyes were narrow and she was breathing in slowly. She pointed to a running figure. I squinted and I scowled. Delphi disappeared through the forest. "What do you think she's planning?" Amber asked "Not sure." I shook my head "Well I'm going to find out" Amber answered and Alana came with her as they followed Delphi. "Amber" I said "Coming?" She asked. I hesitated, then nodded. I jumped down to Amber and gave Leah and Jade a scared look. They jumped down to me and held my hands tight. "We're coming with you."

"Emily? You coming?" Amber asked Emily who was standing with her arms crossed. "No" She laughed "Guess I was right about you. Your too weak" Amber retorted. Emily scowled and marched up to Amber to say something else. But just at the right moment, Amber grabbed her wrist and pulled Emily with her. I gave a nervous glance at Jade and Leah. Alana was standing next to Amber with bravery. We followed Delphi into the forest until we caught up to her.

We stood behind a tree and watched Delphi place something on the floor. It looked like a sharp sword with an orb as a handle and backed up. Something shone and a large dementor appeared floating on the object. I gasped and Leah squeezed my hand. "Be brave." She warned. Jade squeezed my hand too. "Why have you summoned me?" A dark voice bellowed from the object. "I have a favour to ask" Delphi reported "What?" The voice asked. "I need an army" Delphi continued. An ARMY?! I shivered. "Unless you have something to offer in return, I can't" The deep voice answered "Like what?" She asked "I'm basically feeding you guys, it's free souls, an all-you-can-eat" Delphi snarled. "And plus, I've heard you guys are running low"

"That is a problem for us, not you, and we don't need your charity"

"And besides, what are you so desperate about anyway?"

"To finish what my father started" Delphi spat "Why don't you use your own army?" The voice asked "All either dead, stupid, or keep refusing" Delphi explained, "Didn't Harry's army win last time?" The voice growled, "He's a very intelligent boy, what makes you think he won't win again?"

"Cause, I have one thing that my father didn't have" Delphi responded "And what might that be?"

"Dementors" She answered and signaled her hand toward the sky. Six hooded figures appeared and seized the floating dementor. My teeth chattered silently in fear and Jade pulled me close to her. "I'm scared too and so is Leah. But we must be brave." She whispered in my ear. I nodded, leaning my head on Jade's shoulder. "What are you doing?!" The dark voice yelled angrily "Getting my army" Delphi smirked and picked up the object. "YOU CAN'T DO THIS!" The voice screamed "I can if the Dementors don't have a leader already, which they won't" She laughed evilly and looked up at the dementor.

She walked up to the dementor and held the object in front of him. Delphi waved farewell before stabbing the dementor with the point of the object. Jade, Leah and I immediately stuck closer together. Alana and Amber gasped at the same time. Amber looked over to me and we locked eyes. I looked to Emily, she looked stunned. I covered my ears as the voice cried in pain, a light force spread from the wound and lit the whole forest. All you could see was white, then black, but I could still hear the dementors screams and feel someone shake me constantly. Or is it just me? I heard the screams stop then silence and a sigh, "Ok, second step done" Delphi's voice sighed. "Mam, was that really necessary?" Lavender's voice asked

"Are you questioning my authority?" Delphi's voice asked and then I could hear shuffling. Where I thought Amber would be, she wasn't and I almost cried out. "Where's Amber?"

"I- I don't know. I think they accidentaly left without us!" Leah whispered. We huddled into a bush and I felt a bit safer. We peeped out. Delphi was glaring down at Lavender. Then she made a weird sounding call and then suddenly, the place went cold as Dementors swooped in from all sides. There were scores and scores of them! I couldn't keep it in any longer. I screamed and ran out from the bush. Then I tripped and knocked my head on something. The last thing I heard was an evil laugh.
