AUTHOR'S POV-
The showcase was only a few days away, and RM was feeling the pressure. His apartment was a mess of scattered sheet music, half-empty coffee cups, and scribbled notes. Despite the chaos, his guitar remained the focal point, resting against the couch where he spent hours playing and composing. But today, his mind wasn’t on the showcase it was on YN.
Suga, who had stopped by to rehearse, noticed RM’s distracted state. He strummed a few chords on his guitar before speaking up. “Hey, what’s going on with you? You’ve been off ever since we started today.”
RM glanced up, his fingers idly plucking at the strings of his guitar. “I ran into someone yesterday. At the café.”
Suga raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “Oh? Someone special?”
RM hesitated, then nodded slowly. “Yeah, I think so. Her name’s YN. We just…bumped into each other, but it felt like more than that. Like I knew her, but I don’t know how.”
Suga leaned back, studying RM’s expression. “You’ve been having those dreams again, haven’t you?”
“Every night,” RM admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. “And when I met YN, it was like she was the woman from my dreams. I know it sounds crazy, but I can’t shake the feeling.”
Suga didn’t dismiss RM’s words. Instead, he nodded thoughtfully. “Maybe it’s not crazy. Maybe there’s something to it. People say we’re all connected in ways we don’t understand. Maybe you and YN are connected somehow.”
RM let out a frustrated sigh. “But what does that even mean? She’s a stranger, but I feel like I’ve known her forever. And now, I can’t get her out of my head. Every time I pick up my guitar, I start playing this melody that feels so familiar, but I can’t remember where it’s from.”
Suga tilted his head, intrigued. “Play it for me.”
RM picked up his guitar and began to play a soft, haunting melody that seemed to carry a sense of longing and familiarity. The notes flowed effortlessly, as if they were coming from somewhere deep within him. As he played, the image of YN standing on that balcony in his dreams flashed in his mind, clearer than ever before.
When RM finished, the room was filled with a heavy silence. Suga stared at him, clearly moved by the music. “That…that was something else, man. It’s like it came straight from your soul.”
RM nodded slowly, setting the guitar down. “That’s what it feels like. And I don’t know what to do about it. I can’t just show up at the café and start talking about dreams and melodies, can I?”
Suga chuckled. “Probably not. But maybe you don’t have to figure it all out right now. Just take it one step at a time. See if you run into her again. If you’re meant to cross paths, it’ll happen.”
“I hope so,” RM said quietly, staring at his guitar. “I feel like there’s something I need to remember, something important. But it’s just out of reach.”
Suga gave him a reassuring pat on the shoulder. “You’ll figure it out. And in the meantime, focus on the showcase. Maybe playing that melody will bring you some clarity.”
RM nodded, though his thoughts were still with YN. “Yeah, you’re right. I’ll keep working on it.”
As they resumed their rehearsal, RM’s mind kept drifting back to YN and the mysterious connection he felt to her. The melody he played lingered in the air, a reminder of the unanswered questions that filled his dreams. Deep down, he knew that YN was the key to unlocking the secrets of his past and possibly, his future.
