It was late at night and it was pouring rain outside. Grant was home alone while his parents and younger brother Henry went out for the weekend. He was sitting in the living room watching a movie when he heard a knock at the door. "Who could that be? It's pretty late out." Grant thought to himself. So he quickly got up from the living room couch and walked to the front door. When he opened the door Grant saw a visibly upset Junior who was soaking wet from the rain. "Can I come in?" The smaller boy asked. Grant nodded immediately and moved aside so Junior could walk into the house. Once Junior was inside Grant closed the front door before turning to look at Junior. "Could I go up to your room and change quickly so I'm not in these wet clothes?" Junior asked. Grant nodded immediately. "Of course, my clothes are your clothes."
After Junior ran upstairs to get changed Grant sat back down on the living room couch and just waited for his boyfriend to come back downstairs. When Junior finally came back downstairs wearing one of Grant's T-shirts and a pair of his sweatpants he sat down next to his boyfriend and cuddled up to him."What's wrong baby?" Grant asked in a soft-toned voice while looking at Junior. "I came out to my parents." The smaller boy said as he looked right back at Grant. "Really? That's great. How did they take it?" Grant asked curiously. "Well my dad is pretty furious but my mom has been pretty cool about it," Junior said softly.
"Well, at least she's supportive of you," Grant said as he gave his boyfriend a small smile. However, his smile went away when he noticed that Junior still looked pretty upset. "That's not what has you upset, is it?" Grant asked. The smaller boy's eyes fill with tears as he looks back up at his boyfriend. "Am I worthless?" Junior asked as tears slowly rolled down his cheeks. Grant's eyes went wide immediately when he heard his boyfriend ask that question. "You're worth everything Jun. What makes you think you're worthless?" He asked in a concerned tone.
"Nothing...I guess sometimes I just feel like if I don't live up to my dad's expectations then I won't amount to anything...I'll be worthless." Junior says in a soft tone voice. Hearing all that made Grant feel angrier than he already did but he knew being angry wouldn't help the current situation. So he carefully wiped away the smaller boy's tears and held him close. "Don't ever think like that. You're perfect and I love you for who you are." Grant said before placing a soft kiss on top of his boyfriend's head. "I'm sure your mom and my parents would agree with me." The taller boy assured Junior. "Besides I think the worthless one is your homophobic asshole of a dad for making you think you have to please him just to be worth something," Grant said.
Junior gave a small nod. "Would it be okay if I stayed the night? I don't feel comfortable going home right now." The smaller boy asked. "Of course. I would rather you stay somewhere you feel safe." Grant said as he put a blanket over them so they could cuddle. The two boys stayed up a little bit longer but eventually went to bed since they were both pretty tired.
