Carina was feeling tired as she finally passed forks welcome sign, she's finally back in forks and everything still looks green and full of life. I was excited to be back home and I wondered if Angela who was one of the girls I befriended a few years ago knew I was coming back, I hope not as I wanted to surprise her. I realized as I arrived home that I completely forgot to tell dad and uncle charlie about having bought my own place...oops. As I parked in my driveway, I stayed inside my car for a few seconds mesmerizing my new home before smiling as I got out of my car and walked towards the back of my car, opened the trunk, got my suitcases and headed inside before locking the door behind me.
I took a deep breath and giggled as I finally felt at peace, happy and at home but most of all because I was back with the family, which reminds me..I should at least text Dad and uncle charlie and let them know that I'm home. As I took my cellphone out of my purse to open the chat I have with both Dad and uncle charlie, I headed towards my bedroom to put away my suitcases and grab some clothes to take a quick shower and go to sleep as the long hours drive begins to finally be felt as I hit send to the short text I sent to Dad and Uncle Charlie.
~Time Skip~
The next morning Carina woke up feeling refreshed and well rested as she got up from bed and headed straight to the bathroom for a quick shower. After having taken her shower Carina got dressed in something simple as the only thing she got planned for today was spending time with her dad and her uncle charlie before planning what job she will do.Deciding to eat Lucky charms cereal as her breakfast, Carina headed out her front door and straight into her car as she wanted to see her dad right away, as she drove down the familiar street she felt a sense of nostalgia hit her as she remembered the day she and Dad moved back to forks a few months after Mom had died and after Uncle Charlie convinced dad to move here, it was the best choice as I got to grow up amongst family and made many friends amongst the townspeople.
I finally arrived right outside Dad's house and parked right in front of the house before getting out the car and with a tiny skip into my steps as I walked towards the front door, took a deep breath and knocked.
As soon as the door opened, I yelled "Surprise!!," Laughing as dad lifted me off my feet and twirled me around as he hugged me right before putting me down, "Your home!! Welcome back sweetie, come inside." Dad guided me inside his home and I was suddenly hit with nostalgia and the scent of pinewood, lemon and rose water..the scent of home. I sat down on the kitchen table as I watched dad head into the kitchen and start to brew a cup of coffee for the both of us before coming to sit next to me.
"Any plans for today, honey?," dad asked as I took a sip of my coffee,"Nothing besides spending the day with you and uncle charlie, I'm still trying to get used to being back home after being gone for 5 years."
"Well there's nothing I rather be doing that spending the day with my beautiful daughter," I smiled as I stood up and placed the now empty cup into the sink before heading towards the living room and asking Dad what movie should we watch, we ended up choosing 2 movies: The white chicks and 50 first date, it was amazing! I hugged Dad and soaked in his warmth before saying goodbye to him and walking across the street towards uncle Charlie's house.
Knocking on Uncle Charlie's door filled her with excitement and as the door open, uncle Charlie's expression was priceless! I wrapped my arm around uncle charlie and said "Uncle Charlie! I'm back!"
Feeling the familiar arms hugging me tightly caused me to feel tears building in my eyes, tears that ran down my cheeks as I heard Uncle Charlie say "It's good to have you back, welcome home sweetheart! I'm so proud of you and I've missed you."
'It was good to be home'
